When I was trying to find work with a BS in chemistry, it was just laughable. It didn't take me long to start looking for another degree I could get that would actually be worth something.

The bachelor's has kind of become the new high school diploma as far as being a pre-requisite for obtaining a job that doesn't mean much. This is the problem with the idea that everyone should have a college education - if everyone does it, it's not worth that much, but now it's required.
