it's true…when i heard about it with lucy l as watson i immediately thought it would be cheesy and contrived….but they've pulled it off pretty well, especially for a network show.

Elementary: actually pretty good!
it is amazing just how many remakes this story can withstand and still have some interest.

to be honest this whole project sounded preposterous from the get go with too many conflicting elements for a major studio release. this guy's last epic (as opposed to claustrophobic condensed story) was a total flop as i recall.
that said…i am curious about the weirdness factor the maker of PI, requiem for a dream,

definitely top ten for me.

checked this show out for the first time this ep….what a mess.
recipe for success: maybe watch a season of hannibal and try again.

agree. some really fantastic choruses on this one.

definitely getting burned out on the nerdist….but it sure was a hoot to hear Slash talking at length about dinos. next up…stewart copeland on mohr stories!

well….i didn't see that coming!
ha.

c'mon bill murray as steve zissou with side kicks willem dafoe and the bond company stooge? there is nothing wrong with that scenario. comedy/drama gold. gene hackman in TRT? as fun a character as he's ever written/directed.
also there are millions of awkward kids making out all over the globe…what's the big deal

you may be onto something.
that or she's next in the game of "toss somebody off the building".

bald terrorist…hot nurse.  it's a start.

this show would have been brilliant as the the first silent tv show….cause the vibe and texture is haunting but the talking bits are often terribly bad.

the epitome of meh.

man…something about the clumsy plot development rhythm and awkward dialog is leaving me totally cold this season.
i was actually kind of enjoying this show in a trashy kind of way…but tonight was rough.

mr covington ftw.

for whatever reason i'm having trouble staying interested.
it's well acted as always i guess maybe part of the problem is that it feels very low stakes and carrie's mental-ness is bordering on annoying rather than compelling…which i'm sure is true to life but maybe does not make for great tv.
i'm sure things will expand

and kenny better remember that.  he ain't gonna do any better.

missing some of the old edge…but damn it was funny to hear all that swearing at the end.
also april is freaking adorable.
that is all.

valid point.

i donno man….i've heard so many hesitant cue card readings over the years from non performers who don't even sound like they understand the words they are saying…some seriously clumsy stuff.  now how that all interacts with the power and skill of the writing team…that's an interesting question.
