i gave up on this show..but definitely glad to see james woods getting work.  i have a soft spot for his weird characters ever since videodrome.
side question: any reason to give this thing another chance?

huh…very interesting.
she's definitely got a point.
i'm sure both the sopranos and breaking bad had/have a majority male fan base whose misogynistic tendencies are brought to the fore by the wives of the main characters.  no doubt.  i can imagine anna gunn was pretty damn alarmed at the hatred for both her character and

SPOOOOOILERSSSSSSSS (does that even apply to this show?)
anyway….
i'm not sure exactly why but something about walter framing hank felt wrong.  it seems odd and abrupt in the narrative and also implausible as a real threat.  as a huge fan of the show this felt like a clumsy soap opera misstep.

makes curb your enthusiasm look like child's play.

For all the violence in the scorsese catalog this movie is by far the most brutal.
so many painfully awkward wince-inducing scenarios.

also big soldier of orange fan…definitely a twisted classic.
the forth man is equally enjoyable tho.

this movie owns…i still remember those steel rods killing that dude…classic verhoeven.

i agree.
i had to turn off my a/c just to understand what the hell everybody was saying.

@avclub-d5756748da7d4fc61bb0b1bcba6e6d4d:disqus i must defer to you because although i like dylan i was never enough of a fan to argue the fine points….and in a way it's apples and oranges because at least to me dylan is about a vibe/texture/personality/poetry and mccartney is mostly an astounding musician w a capital

i'm sure i'm biased but at least imo bob dylan repeats his thing a lot more than mccartney and is much more limited in terms of range.  dylan is cool and remains productive and i'm definitely impressed….but mccartney has always been the stronger musician/songwriter/singer (although i'm sure people can argue taste in

big cohen fan…but have to give mccartney the nod.  i want to hold your hand up to chaos and creation and beyond….a ridiculously strong body of work.

enjoyable conversation even if you completely disagree with albini on how he records or his opinions on anything.
just a cool candid bit of insight.

chaos and creation co-sign.
mccartney + godrich….very cool.

this.

best pop musician of all time.
not that i love every single tune…but seriously nobody's track record comes close and he's still doing massive shows and producing new material at 71.
gotta give it up…..

you lost me at  "not quite as repugnant"
for this flick….go repugnant or go home.

based on past blindness maybe Hank is not the smartest man on the planet?  he's missed a few things over the years.  Also it's possible that his mind was so blown by the revelation of who walt is that he did some careless things.

It was pretty jarring seeing Norris contend with his newfound knowledge so masterfully…especially after seeing him on the atrocious under the dome.

a great episode.
the thing that stood out the most to me was the pacing, completely controlled and appropriate to where the characters are at.

really…by far better than the wire, oz, deadwood, and sopranos first seasons?
i'll admit i'm definitely a fan…but only up to a point.
