i have no problem with unsympathetic characters, even unsympathetic central characters…the problem i had w this film was that the characters were uninteresting and stupid on top of that.  the impression i came away with was of a cheap gross out joke, a cheesy dirty limerick of a movie.

have to say after reading very positive things i did not enjoy killer joe at all.
in the end it just felt like a room full of nauseating amoral idiots doing nauseating amoral idiotic things to each other.  
the black humor was so clumsy as to be no longer humorous, the dialog was pedestrian, and the cinematography was…

im with sam adams: the final scene of Cosmopolis featuring a full on Paul Giamatti is absolutely fascinating.   between the bizarre and precise language, the intensity of the performances, perfectly minimalist editing, the perfectly detailed set….one of a kind scene.

agree…it is unfortunate that this relationship that is so central to the show is so hard to believe or invest in.  brody, or rather damian lewis is totally believably as this scarred traumatized confused individual….but is somehow totally unbelievable speaking about his true love for carrie….and same thing on her end.

ha!  it was the childlike glee and naivete that made it funny.

also kept wanting to kick the main character in the head for not being all about lauren ambrose and being such a self obsessed tool (which i know was intentional but still….)

also it was not long ago that he thought she was completely out to lunch…that's a pretty quick turn around (even given her success in that period of time).
