Who cares if it's faster? How often are you able to wind the car out on public roads where you won't A) Break the law/get a ticket or B) Be caught in traffic. Sure, a quick squirt out of a toll booth is all well and good, but is that fun?

I think the obvious answer is: "Not very far".

Nope. Just yesterday there was an issue with posts not appearing right on the Oppo front page because someone was mucking about with the "comment promotion system".

My guess is they've likely seen a lull or decline in page hits, hence thinking that a format change will somehow make new people stay at the site, or keep people from leaving.
