Ah, life lessons the Bluth way.
Ah, life lessons the Bluth way.
I can explain that, actually, and it has nothing to do with your TV/radio habits and everything to do with sampling methodology.
A few things to note here (from someone who works in this industry):
I love this. I just want to be able to make my way satisfactorily in the world! What is wrong with that?
Lost in the debate about having it all, wanting it real bad, reaching for the brass ring and living a life mired in…
There's actually a lot more going on here than the article says. The main metabolic problem in obesity is that adipocytes (fat cells) actually swell to the point where they exceed the diffusion radius of the surrounding capillaries, and so they become hypoxic (not enough oxygen). Mitochondria need oxygen to generate…
So they used basic histology to quantify different portions of the nuggets, which is kind of a crappy method to quantify things. Also, this study has no control comparison to regular chicken, which is pretty silly considering that not a single thing they mentioned is something you couldn't find on a piece of chicken.…
Ummm... am I a complete asshole for kind of agreeing with Bayer here?
I was coming down to the comments to say the same thing! At the start of my period there's so much miserable crampy bloatiness and in the time leading up to the period poop my cramps seem to become doubly unbearable. Then the definitive urge hits, I hit the bathroom, the poop is absurdly cooperative (apart from clean…
Just once...JUST ONCE...I'd love to hear a reporter ask a male politician/musician/actor/director/doctor/judge/whatever ask the following questions:
It's not complicated. It's because our maternity/paternity leave policies are stone-age, and childcare is crazy expensive. This leads to enormous institutional pressure for women to quit their jobs b/c "well, my whole paycheck was going to childcare anyways." Then, they re-enter the workforce sometimes a decade…
I've said it before and I'll say it again: plenty of Asian women are born with "double eyelids." While there are arguments that it is being done to look more Caucasian, there are also many arguments that this surgery is done to emulate many Asian people with similar features.
People really, really like saying Asians want to look white. I find that assertion problematic in about a million ways, but for some reason, it's an assertion that still gets lots of recommendations and traction from commenters and writers here alike.
I'm not saying that rapists should be given points for obliviousness. If a victim is crying, she's crying—and since rape cases are usually he said/she said anyway, "I was crying" vs "She wasn't crying" isn't that different from "I was crying" vs "I didn't see her crying."
Still my favorite book ever. Aerin rocks.
Man, I was into dragons before dragons were even cool. ;)
No it's not. Being FROM CHINA, it's not a practice to westernize your face. A double lid is a common phenotype ALL OVER Asia but is slightly less common in East Asia. Less common phenotypes are prized in cultures throughout the world. For example, blond hair and blue eyes in Europe and the United States. The double…
FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME. DOUBLE EYELID SURGERY IS NOT THE ASIAN WOMAN'S WAY OF "AMERICANIZING" HER FACE. JESUS TITTYFUCKING CHRIST.
But if it wasn't named that, I probably would never had heard of it. And now that I've heard of it, I'm ready to join...
I still have mine (two years old now I guess). I mean, I don't whip it out and pass it around, it's sitting in a box on my dresser and I'm pretty sure my husband doesn't even know I kept it, but I can't bring myself to throw it away. We tried to have a baby for five years. That positive test felt like a major…
