They both super reliable midsize sedans made by Toyota which carry the same nameplate and a continuous lineage.

Let me just characterize the GMT800s once and for all:

Not one of those is a GMT800

3400 hour Flight Instructor, here...One hell of a job in my opinion. Bear in mind that this guy is a student pilot, and he only has about 2,000 feet of altitude. Not really much time to pull out a written check list, when you are low, task saturated, and gliding. His primary job is to “fly the airplane”, and maintain

My buddy’s almost 400k mile 2007 Prius would argue with you on that...

Yep. I drove my 2016 Avalon Hybrid for 121k miles over 4 years. I beat the living crap out of that car. I floored it all the time, spent at least a thousand combined miles at over 100mph, and drove it like a race car half the time. In that span the only things it ever needed were oil every 10k miles and tires. I think

I’ve been fine so far. Knock wood.

Yeah four people have bailed out on this car.

Lease : pay somewhere between 40% and 50% of the car over a fixed period, then return or pay the balance, then keep it until it’s worth nothing

FWIW, I have not seen a flashing yellow in -ever- so, yeah, I’d probably treat it like a red myself. Regional thing or just that obscure?

You could feed one rocks and Coca-Cola and it wouldn’t die. It ran on 100% premium spite.

It’s slow as molasses, but these things are cockroaches and it has another 20 years in it, easy. This here is smart money for people who realize occasionally needing a truck is no reason to drop $40k on a new one, and the price is about what they go for.  NP.

I call bullshit.  No way a Dodge of that era was going 15mph reliably.

Against my better judgment, I bought cheap tickets from a scalper once, and the barcodes didn’t work to get me in the door. Never again.

Wouldn’t a credit card with a limit be better for building credit than a car loan?

The main reason I will never buy a Hyundai is that I worry about ticking the wrong option boxes,

This has to do with cars because...they used a Penske truck? You’re not even trying on this one.

There are indeed restomod possibilities, and yet, doing much to this time capsule other than washing and waxing it would knock down the house-of-cards value proposition.

Oh yeah, that’s how this should go!
