Cameras are cheap. Memory is cheap. WHY, exactly, aren’t police vehicles bristling with cameras?

Yeah, back in the 80s AC was still an option. It wasn’t automatically bolted into every car. My truck doesn’t have it either.

I don’t know what it is about the LeSabre.  For some reason, alone among all the GM products, it somehow flies under everyone’s radar and every example goddamn splash covered the entire screen while I was typing fuck this place.

Well, I’m just misremembering stuff then. I did remember that whatever the runway’s length was, the C17s rating was right up against it and whatever you might think of the pilot’s misnavigation, there was no faulting his flying or the plane’s capability, touching down - and then flying right back out again - on a

Now I know someone out there is going to decry this as “cancel culture” but I just want to say, is it cancelling or is it just wanting nothing more from the individual in question?

At this price point your best search results will come from looking among the used bread-and-butter models of the 90s to aughts. The Accords, the Camries, the Malibus (you heard me), the vehicles that were marketed to buyers who didn’t want flash, didn’t want ego stroking, but absolutely demanded a vehicle they could

Torch, do you still have your Beetle? Have you ever considered doing any of the Mileage Motor stuff Hot VWs did with their rig?

It’s like what killed John Denver. Only his second time in a plane that was unfamiliar to him - he had had a grand total of about 30 minutes in it the previous day - and what killed him was the goofy way it had been constructed, with the fuel tank selector switch completely over his shoulder and the fuel level gauges

IIRC the runway for that C17 was about 5000-5500 feet long, barely long enough for the C17 and being a crack pilot he stuck it and then, because the C17 is frikkin amazing he was able to REVERSE the plane, turn around and take off!

Looks great, presents well, and the Transformer top is demonstrated in working order. It’s a good looking car that appears to have been well cared for over its modest life, and the asking price seems to have resisted the surge.

I remember reading about an early Audi (Auto Union IIRC) land speed record attempt in 1938 resulting in a horrific crash, that predated Nazis moving troops around.

I’m not surprised the Cub is undamaged, they’re the VW Beetle of the air. Slow, low powered and crude...but dogged and relentless.

Unions need to reexamine their bylaws, I think. A union providing a backstop to an incompetent or transgressive member is an abettor after the fact.

I’m guessing “none of the above” when the whole thing shuddered to a stop.

No, but you get more mileage out of the gas you do produce.

So I get that Dart is having some anxiety issues about all this but what I’m really seeing is that Martinez has been setting up a mighty performance review on himself, and is in the process of failing it so hard.

More useful as a buttplug.

I lived in Falls Church in 1979 and was at that time about the age you appear to be in the photo.
