Put the guy’s head in a hammerlock into the corner of the window frame and start backing away. You have tremendous leverage, being able to brace your back against the seat. Stiff-arm him into the corner of the window opening, let the clutch out and back away.

I’m thinking this thing would probably sell for a bit more than this price with its original engine. Whatever caused the old engine to go toes-up is moot; it’s gone now and the car has to be judged with this engine.

Maxwell’s biggest, highest capacity ultracaps hold about 4.25 watt-hours each.  So what that’s going to do for charging times, I don’t know.  As a load leveling feature in the charging points themselves it has merit, as a peaking supply during discharge in the car it has merit - but it’s bulky.  Something amazing is

Agreed, caps absolutely have a place.  But that place is in no way all of the battery pack.

The very best ultracaps have maybe 1/10 the energy density of good batteries. Caps are great for dumping a LOT of current in a hurry, but they can’t maintain the thrust for very long.

Alastair looked out the window as the Sikorsky banked to the south, affording him a last glance at his Jaguar abandoned on the glistening Pendine Sands. It gleamed in the dawn light, an icon of purpose and luxury, crouched and ready but...

No more bailouts for these bozos, ever.

I’m all for this. I actually want these failures to go on and on until through the process of iteration and refinement, it becomes foolproof. Or at least more foolproof than the fools you find driving cars.

It looks good, like it hasn’t been flogged by an immature wannabe racer. The PO has added some appearance bits but nothing too over the top if you never ever look at the trunk lid.

If the item is being sold by Amanda Cullen, flight attendant.

That’s a point I’ve tried to make in the past, that calling the system “Autopilot” confers a level of capability that simply isn’t there. As you indicated, “Super Cruise” only builds on an existing generic name - cruise control - that doesn’t suggest that the system is going to actually drive the car for you. And even

That wasn’t a conscious factor in my recommendation but it is absolutely a consideration.  If you want a good used car, find one that hasn’t been flogged to death.  Impreza = flogged, especially a WRX.  Foresters, I think, are viewed more as family type vehicles, even the turbocharged ones.

Pour one out for the auto makers? Hell no.

Agreed that the driver needs to be charged with violating assorted laws, but Tesla needs to feel some heat as well.  It won’t prevent drivers doing certain things, but until Tesla offered the Autopilot system, no one ever deliberately left the driving to the car, leaving themselves and all other motorists around them

You appear to be forgetting some of the history surrounding manufacturer liability. Gun manufacturers had been sued, many times and successfully, for liability for harm caused by their products; it was entire cities that were bringing the suits. It wasn’t until the passage of a law protecting the manufacturers that

About 6000 miles per year, but not babied. (observes plastic in passenger footwell) Well, not too babied.

Send the fine to Tesla. Until Tesla is held liable for offering this deeply flawed product, people will continue to misuse and abuse it.

Forester.

That last bit really hit home. Guys like me wanted trucks like this back when they were new, and all I had in my pocket was whatever was left from my lot boy job after paying tuition. So I rode my bike everywhere.

Not as loud, but I think nearly as loyal.  The drivetrain of this thing is solid.  Not powerful, nothing like fast, but solid.  Finding an example with the body in good shape is great, especially the two door which in my opinion is far more attractive (feel the same way about the boxy old Cherokee XJ too).  Though I
