The issue about weight on top of the front wheels isn’t lost on me but I wonder about backing the T-drive block right up against the firewall. Either have the exhaust and intake together or else let it be a crossflow with the intake on the firewall side to keep the heat at the passenger compartment under control, and…
Torque pulse in a straight-8 is a nonissue. Frankly I haven’t been able to detect it even in two-cylinder engines and neither, I strongly suspect, can the vast majority of drivers with four-bangers. In an 8, forget it. It’s smooth as butter.
Of course it’s correct, it’s opinion. It’s his opinion and he’s telling us that it is his opinion, which is correct.

My son reports that the Volt’s acceleration numbers are a bit misleading. 0-60 in 8 is nothing impressive compared to other cars, but its behavior in the earlier part of that sprint is really surprising, like being a rock in a slingshot.
That’s where my son and his fiance are, too. She is about to start in-person classes so she’s going to start racking up miles; he is a software engineer and can be 100% productive anywhere he has his laptop and WiFi. He doesn’t see a big need to go into the office except may three or four times per year.
I strongly recommend he sell them all and apply that money to a place that isn’t getting vigorously rogered by an HOA.

Too bad about the lost volume to the battery. But that said, my son and his fiance each have plug-ins and are over the moon for them; hers is even a Ford, and she reports no hiccups so far.
It’s not cheap today. It’s way cheaper every day afterward.

Ah, DUDE. I’m so sorry.
Yeah, any time you have to take a cover off for a needed repair, you may as well look around and see what wear items are in there. Ultimately saves a lot of time and trouble. I did the rear bearings on my Prius exactly wrong - without a new set of brake shoes in hand too, since getting at the bearings means getting…
The engine is not especially sophisticated, but it isn’t especially weak either. Check the pan gasket is where it belongs and that’s about it. This one did have OBDII on it, so that’s nice.
The 50cc record is right up there, I think it’s over 150mph. Buddfab posted a YT vid years ago in which his extremely high-strung 50cc streamliner needs every inch of four miles to get past 140mph. That was in 2008. I reckon somebody’s pushed it even higher since.
