He had heard of the Jedi, he just thought they were charlatans, e.g., “A lot of simple tricks and nonsense.” And there could be trillions of people, like Din and Carga, who know nothing about the Jedi or the Force. The stories just tend to focus on people who are better informed.

exactly this, I think folks get too caught-up on the OT and Luke being the “only one,” able to defeat Vader (and another)...while ignoring all the times Lucas would swerve from “cannon,” and the million ways to interpret it, ways Lucas changed himself.

He also switched to carrying a DL-44 instead of stun weaponry like he did in the pre-lightsaber/first lightsaber period.

That lightsaber was destroyed by Darth Vader on Malachor, his second lightsaber was green with a more traditional design. Kind of a cross between both of Luke’s lightsabers and Kanan’s.

Does the lightsaber still have the blaster in it’s hilt? I hope they can show that onscreen. People who haven’t watched Rebels might get a kick out of that.

What’s funny is the longer this goes the worse it’s getting for him. He’s *tanked* in polls since this started. Because he’s losing to Disney and because his state is LITERALLY underwater in some places.

There are about 2,000 special districts in Florida. Most are established to foster investor development, where we were one of them.

But it’s not a tax “break” they spend the money on upkeeping the land around Disney that would otherwise bankrupt the local areas.  The only reason Florida doesn’t have a state income tax is all the taxes paid by Disney and MGM parks.  So in this case, they’re paying and then some.

This getting cancelled was a definitive example to me that Netflix was becoming a trash service with trash content. As the article says this was, and remains, one of the best Fantasy series in years - and perhaps the better Dark Crystal story, if I’m honest.

Twilight of the Apprentice never ceases to bring me to tears.

For the life of me I will never understand this hatred in the Star Wars fandom of children characters that act like... actual children. From Ahsoka to Anakin to Ezra to Omega and even Luke....do you people even like adolescents, even remotely?

Disney XD also had an animated Tron: Uprising show that wasn’t too shabby. And is hidden again on Disney +.

I do understand this feeling, and that it can be frustrating to feel like you have to complete a checklist just to watch one thing you might be interested in, but on the flip-side of that...Rebels is absolutely top-tier Star Wars that is well worth your time. It has its kiddier moments, sure, but then so do the films.

I think the first two seasons are underrated, they’re uneven but they do a good job of establishing characters and relationships, that give the emotional weight to the last two seasons. Plus season two gave us “The Future of the Force” and most importantly, “Twilight of the Apprentice”

It’s not great, but then again, all the large-scale chat apps have gotten really bad. It makes me long for the days of AIM.

If Nintendo still somehow gets away with Friend Codes, Discord can keep using the discriminators. If someone wants to add you badly enough and you want to let them, it’ll happen. It’s not that hard.

There was a joke in my friends group about a decade ago, about taking Gundam anime, and just adding the Ventrilo push to talk sound to conversations taking place between mech pilots in different mechs.

I had to Google the name Ventrilo, because it had lapsed entirely from my brain by this point.

NY Times is reporting that Disney fiked their lawsuit minutes after the vote. Minutes. Sometimes tells me they’re going to be a lot more prepared in court than DeSantis is.

Disney seems to have recognized this, because they were going to just about every length they could manage to protect themselves without getting the courts involved

Nah. I for one hope the media company successfully proves they were unfairly targeted by a government body for not producing content that fit his conservative preferences.
