We had That Guy in grad school, too, and he became so tiresome and longwinded that I just zoned out whenever he started pontificating. Such a waste of air and space. He spark notes Hegel once and suddenly it’s like he can’t sleep at night if he doesn’t say “dialectic” once per seminar. GTFO and go skim the actual

That verifies the anecdotal horror stories, and I’m glad you’re having a positive experience in a field that can be difficult for women, and totally #notallmen etc., but this study that suggests even quiet and polite men are more likely to view themselves as smarter than women, which speaks to a huge gender/cultural

Good Bones delivers my favorite designs on HGTV right now, and I love the dynamic between those two!

AND HERE I WAS THINKING I MISSED FEINBERG

They probably give them the design and SOME man hours for nothing, but shows like the property brothers actually take you when you have your home lined up. “I’m going to be on a TV show” probably isn’t something the bank considers to be an asset. The whole shopping period is a sham. Things have to be ready to go for

Pretty upset that there isn’t a forthcoming Carol television series featuring hardboiled women and slimy detectives. Wasn’t thinking about it before, but am now, and feeling empty.

Good Bones routinely takes their houses down to the studs and replaces lumber. Fixer Upper does it occasionally. The problem with repairing a home like that is you need the budget—a lot of banks won’t give you a home repair loan unless you’re very financially secure. So it’s not that the shows aren’t taking the risks,

I adore them, and there’s a chance they didn’t (a commenter upthread noted that the town history bills itself as progressive), but their county went to Trump 71%. Per Wikipedia, only 29.8% of the population in Laurel is white, which probably means the majority of white people went Trump if only 29% of the votes were

I don’t think you’ll get in trouble for any of those opinions amongst us commenters!

HGTV has been casually featuring non-heteronormative couples for a very long time on most of their shows. I’ve always been disappointed in the way they promoted Chip and Joanna because they were working against a really sterling legacy of inclusivity.

It annoyed me a lot at first because I think the trailer for it and the introduction are so bad but it’s worth sticking with—the couple is very good, and 100x less annoying than Chip and Joanna.

I’m sure now they’re rethinking EVERYTHING!

PLAYING GOLF WHILE OUR LORD AND SAVIOR IS NAILED TO THE CROSS?!?!

AWESOME NEWS, thanks! *skips over the Aerie.com*

yeah like...if I’m in bed there’s a good chance I’m tired so

I love their style, but I gave one of the crossbacks a whirl a few years ago and HOLY HELL was the ass cut narrow. Has that improved, or are they still cheeky? My butt is big enough that most suits are ALREADY cheeky, so I do not need the extra help! Just creates a wedgie.

Who chooses Indoor Plumbing over Unlimited Time Off?

These are pricey, but (or, even at) 50% off today, but since I don’t know your budget I’ll throw them out there because I covet both:

Don’t twins usually come a bit earlier than the due date anyway, or am I relying too heavily on Shit My Aunts Say?
