I just really love Brie Larson. She chooses interesting roles, does a good job with them, and persistently advocates to make the world a better place (and not just for people who look like her). You’re all right, Brie.

I know in entertainment it’s:
On the other side of things, I work with a male colleague in a female-dominated profession and he is CONSTANTLY treated differently than me (even though i have more experience and am better in every single way at our job).
She seems to look exactly how she wishes to look, so I’d go with yes.
“As a director it never occurred to me to seek out women crew members. I sought out the guys that I worked with, the guys that I knew that I thought were doing great work. I’m almost ashamed of that, until recently where I realized that we actually do have to make an effort.”
I’m relatively close to 40 and I literally just found a haircut that works for me for the first time in my life. Who knows what wonders the future could hold for me?!
Right. I’m 40+ and look just fine. Plus I can afford better make up and clothes now.
What the fuck is this “myth” about people over 40 being incapable of looking good? Who thinks like that?! I mean, I get that there’s Hollywood pressure to be young, yada yada, but ffs, wasn’t she ON television in her 40s?
Poor Katy. She was deposed, so she either had to corroborate this story or deny it. Even if it was true, I doubt she wanted to be asked about this under oath or speak about it at all. It seems like her name should have been blurred out just in case.
Michael Caine is the Platonic ideal of “I need to pay for a new car, I’ll just take this piece of shit role and get a free trip to California while I’m at it.”
Then Jezebel could have chosen to not report on this. I believe rape victims or alleged rape victims should have the right to privacy to avoid further victimization.
I may or may not have screamed YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME at the screen when that reveal happened, getting the looks of the entire theatre
Oh man, I don’t think this is right. Katy Perry should have her privacy respected. This is not cool.
You don’t have to like someone to feel bad for them when something like this happens, especially when they had no say in any of it.
wow this is just awful. There is no way Kesha would have ever thought this private conversation would become public - she wasn’t trying to out Katy Perry as a victim or anything like that. So she must just feel terrible right now. It’s not really her fault but it’s why, if you ever know something like this and feel…

The victim should be allowed to come forward on his or her’s terms.
I’ve always respected/been amused by the English and European model of “Take it, TAKE IT, you may never work again!!!” as opposed to the American model of “My agents, manager and PR sit down and work out a plan for my career and whether a possible project fits.”
It’s a very European approach to an acting career (just work, work, work; some will hit, some will flop, but you’re always at it), even A-listers. See also Ewan McGregor and Antonio Banderas. Their IMDB resumes are staggeringly long.
