Yep. I’ve worked with NGOs and now am a journalist, and it never ceases to amaze me the lengths men will go to to deny rape exists outside of war or trafficking situations or that yours was not “that bad.” It’s why men always want all the details of a rape - so they can see how much of it may have been your fault

men can be feminists, but don’t trust a single fucking one who makes a living off feminism.

The one with the guy who comes out of the fog to the woman’s car is terrifying. It’s possible I would have frozen or done something panicky like put the car in neutral so props to you, girl, for driving away hard and fast.

They also had that dumbass cornhole game they played with their guests. I worked at bloomberg and was - along with plenty of other producers - consistently disappointed that the show was so stupid. When they invited Rick Santorum on the show I was so grossed out. I held my hands behind my back to avoid shaking hands

There’s always gotta be THAT GUY. Don’t be that guy who kicks robots. They will indeed remember and also don’t be a dick.

100%. I went to see Crystal Castles live for HER. I barely noticed him. She’s incredible on stage.

It is the best worst movie I’ve ever seen.

Right? They’ve been together two years, not two months. It’s acceptable to discuss your future in a real way after two years.

Or the classic Dinner and a Movie where the hosts would cook while also providing trivia and intros for the latest Keanu Reeves movie to take the 90s by storm

I think twitter should get rid of polling altogether. What a wonderfully unscientific way to receive confirmation bias on your worst political thoughts and feelings!

“To be honest, I’m kinda jealous of that level of codependency.”

The Olay regenerist serum has become a staple and is available at drugstores. It feels really silky going on.

Oh yes, me too. It’s been cathartic seeing Weinstein ousted, and other terrible people connected with him being called out, but it has also brought on more flashbacks than usual, and a higher than average level of rage. It’s good it’s happening, OBVIOUSLY, but yeah, shit rings true.

I hope my children dont grow up in this shit. I hope they would have the courage to say something. Or adults dont turn a blind eye. This shit starts early.

Thank you! No, she didn’t respond and actually that night changed her profile picture to one of her and him together. I was ready for her not to believe me, and also realize that by sending that message I effectively set a bomb off in her life. I also figure that it took me 10 years to tell someone of consequence, and

I was sexually assaulted in college 10 years ago. About a month ago I sent a facebook message to the culprit’s long term girlfriend telling her what had happened, describing it in graphic detail. Pressing charges was never an option I wanted to take, but after experiencing PTSD for a decade, I had to do something.

The submarine was built by way of crowdfunding, I believe. There’s an angle right there. And Kim Wall was a fantastic journalist who I’m sure had an angle she was pursuing. I’m a freelance journalist and have researched and reported full stories before they’re picked up, so I get what she was doing.

You’re an inspiration. I just made Siri an Australian man who calls me Khaleesi.

Exactly, I knew authors’ names *after* I had read their books and wanted to read their other titles. There were tons of books I bought at school book fairs, though, where I had no idea who the author was, but it sounded cool to me.

People just don’t give kids enough credit. They’ll read books even if they don’t know who the author is. What 9-year-old knows authors’ names anyway?
