I had a 2008 Forester XT. I wished it to have a manual and low range. Only the base 2.0 came with that configuration and it could have been an enterily different car.

I want a Changjiang 750, which is a copy of the Ural, which is a copy of the BMW. It’s a pity that prices have gone stratospheric on them. An Ural can be cheaper than a 50 year old Chinese motorcycle with similar reliability.

I think they are doing a good job on taxing the rich. Cars for normal people are not that expensive. Compared to America of course they are expensive on average, but you can have cars for 9000 dollars.

Being electric it’s quiet cheaper in China due to import taxes on engines over 3L. The cheapest Range will set you 1,690,000 yuan or 253 grand and the Volvo is about 1.1 million yuan or 170 grand.

I haven’t driven a Volvo in years, but I’ve recently driven the European Passat with the 2.0 TSI with 215hp, it was very smooth if you ask me, close to a 6 cylinder Mercedes. What concerns me about Volvo is how well it holds together, I know someone with a fairly new V60 and that thing rattles everywhere.
