I’ve thought about this backlash, and I think it’s subjectively bankrupt as a criticism. I’ve studied so much boring ass film theory, and seen so many “good” and “important” movies in film school and...it’s all bullshit. The idea that one genre or one film company is completely bereft of artistic merit and undeserving

I mean, who didn’t think this would happen? It was kind of a given with what we know about Spider-Man: No Way Home and Dr Strange: Multiverse of Madness.

What’s interesting to me is how everybody complains how all these Marvel shows and movies wrap things up too nicely and dodge any real consequences, and here we have a show that did the opposite of that and people are complaining about the lack of closure.

“I’m just asking questions!!!”

This Ben Shapiro? A good debater?

Right...

What good arguments? Ben Shapiro specializes in strawman arguments. He might be smart and quick, but he draws from an immensely biased set of data/information and just cannot handle it if you confront him with anything that actually contradicts him... which basically makes him splutter and resort to even more

You’re just asking questions right?

If so many people agree with slavery, how can it be bad?

He’s a right wing dumbass, that’s why.

Counterpoint: Sylvie coming around wouldn't have felt remotely earned. This is where her arc had to go because, as Loki 2012 put it: she can't trust.

It’s the intracompany name for Mark Zuckerberg’s asshole.

Exactly, I was wondering if this person has read a Marvel or DC comic before.

Opening up 5 million copies of the same universe means no story ever ends. Every villain and hero has a ready and immediate replacement.

I’m still shaking my head at criticisms of “they didn’t answer everything!”

This was clever.  And it works for me.  The trailer alone would probably have flown under my radar, and if it didn’t, I doubt it would have kept my attention as long as the fake reaction video did.  I could definitely see more of this.

Ryan? Disney? Universe?

Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi have been friends for ages. Before even Green Lantern, I think.  Which shows exactly how good friends they are.

Everything except puberty, which is a metaphor for existential despair.

but audiences owe it to themselves to understand when they’re being pandered to in rather obvious ways.

This is easily the best of the Paramount Star Trek series and I regret that I will have to wait till the next free/cheap trial period to see it.
