where status is cultivated and maintained through a state of perpetual exaggerated victimhood

But some feel like there’s just no right way to help.

Looks like classic “hire a bunch of people without regard for their race”.

I have two black programmers working for me. I didn’t hire them to make a statement. Just to write them. Enclosed in curly braces and terminated by semicolons.

My crush on Hila is peaking.

My hair started thinning in my mid-20s, but it’s taken its time, so here I sit at 40 and still not thin enough to justify shaving it bald, yet not thick enough not to feel self-conscious about it. I don’t wear baseball hats for the same reason I don’t wear more formal hats: Guys tend to wear them with the worst

Where are these MRAs? I see a lot of people calling out Rife for writing misleading bullshit easily disproved by Jen Kirkman’s own words.

I know, I was only spelling out the question because these fuckers need to be reminded that they’re lying and spreading maliciously incorrect information as fact.

I even found Kirkman’s clarification about her podcast, and what her accusation was about, and what she meant by “ruining her career”:

I just wanna file a complaint against Kinja for being so, so shit and somehow being a different flavor of shit every week.

Thank you! That is how I remember the story, as well.

Here’s a pretty good summary, which clearly shows Kirkman’s story and Gawker’s blind item are two separate threads:

I remember Jen Kirkman talking about a fellow comedian who used to be a friend but who hit on her and creeped her out. She never mentioned Louis CK by name, and exhibitionism wasn’t part of her story at all. When did she accuse him of this?

“if you think he’s flirting, he’s flirting. So, if you’re getting that creeper vibe, that’s enough to say he is.”

Outside the Dark Tower, Stephen doesn’t write novels that need to be cross-checked with five other books for timeline accuracy.

Yep, it’s pretty much the same thing. When 99.99% of your life is a smashing success, massive tantrums are thrown over the remaining 0.01%.

Well, minus the cheating, I guess.

That’s what I thought at first. Arya just seemed unnecessarily cruel and threatening towards Sansa, but then it occurred to me that maybe she’s just making sure LF thinks she took the bait. I mean, we know Arya’s essentially a ninja, so how come she broke into his room in clear view of him? And to then lose her shit

They actually explained that bit, though. Jorah said “maybe he’s the one that turned them”. Sure, it’s ridiculously convenient that that one WW was leading a troop with just one straggler that didn’t belong to him, but at least they offered up some logic for the contrivance.

The show’s still fun, but I guess I understand now why GRRM is taking so long to finish the last two books. Unlike D&D, he actually wants events to unfold logically and organically.

It seems like you just want to make excuses. And I have no interest in hearing them, so this is where I get off. Good luck.

The rate at which you burn energy depends not just on your weight and height, but also on your body composition (muscle, fat, bone, and water). I’m linking a good primer on what “fast” and “slow” metabolism really mean, and how it’s more complex than just “but so-and-so can eat whatever and lose 10 pounds while I eat

For an average adult to have such a slow metabolism that even 1000 calories/day weren’t enough would be very rare, and likely the result of a thyroid condition, as I suggested above. “Healthy as a horse, all indicators normal” people are unlikely to have such a low TDEE.
