I really appreciated that she kept stating that she just had “a lot of guilt” about what happened with her and Nick (even though she shouldn’t feel guilty, btw) instead of saying she regretted it, like Shawn kept pressing her to say.

That’s what I came here to say. If he were black and it was just a TOY gun, he would have been shot dead. No questions asked.

He was annoying me so much when he kept humble-bragging, “I got so much time with her this week! If she’s mad, it’s probably because of me because I had so much time with her and we hung out so much.”

Nick has the face of a 5 year old to me. I kept trying to think if his face reminded of a viral Youtube baby or if I actually knew a little kid with his face.

Have you read We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves ? I LOVED this book. Girl has psychologists as parents who are conducting an animal research project and the questions it raises are so poignant— about animal experimentation and family and life and death. I cried and cried. I recommend it a billion times.
