You have some mommy issues and personal identity bullshit weighing you down that definitely impacts the way you’re reading my gripes. Look at what you wrote. He doesn’t fulfill my definition of Blackness, right? But his father is Black and you just told me I seem to be all about the one-drop rule. That would make his

These folks are really wild out here. Dude puts out one movie, we’re supposed to exhalt him to Triple OG Woke status. We say, wait, but what about that lil’ pesky commitment he made to enrich the White hegemony instead of centering Blackness in his own life? We get back, “love is love, one-drop, police stop, God’s

You need some reading comprehension tutoring because my comments are fighting *against* that ‘rule’. If you don’t believe me, check the replies to me suggesting I should believe in that imaginary bullshit.

I solemnly swear I don’t look down on him or any other Black man partnered with a White woman. ‘Looking down’ to me is considering him inferior or less than. To me his decision is a lifestyle choice which is different than mine, but I honestly wish him the best with it and otherwise do not care.

Tiger clearly has a financial blindspot when white people with hair extensions show up. He fooled around even though he knew Elin would walk away with soooo much of the money his Black daddy trained him to earn.

Obsessed? Oh, man. Did you find the secret lair of my interracial-relationship busting organization? Being dramatic about someone’s difference of opinion is suuuuuuper boring.

It’s not self-righteous. It’s just right.

I am a woman. Only an idiot troll would read what I wrote and conclude I am an idiot. How inferior must you be to come to The Root whispering about me in other comments instead of writing to me? Now that you got the attention that you came for, can you do us all a favor and go back to tending to your cystic acne and

Thanks. And I salute you. We have to keep at it if anything is ever going to change. Not even in the dimwitted and hostile, but in us. Hopefully some ‘sleepy’ why can’t we all just get along negro will pass by a comment and feel a bit different about something we say. Half of my personal battle with speaking truth was

Amen.

To be vernacular about it, Trump STAYS violating that clause. It’s downright his favorite violation (if you exclude violating women, people of color, morality, the concept of democracy . . . I digress).

This is fantastic. Thanks so much for sharing. I’m trying to see if they’re accepting any junior varsity donors like myself.

I think they understand just fine. They just use love as a way to make their political decisions seem less calculated and more emotional. We’re supposed to excuse an overt political decision because love, amirite? *The heart wants what the heart wants. I didn’t try to take my money from the Black community that gave

Well, sis, your words seem to be the definition of cogent, so I appreciate it even more coming from an astute communicator. Your identification of anti-blackness is so important. We need to stop playing and admit it’s an undercurrent in our own perception. Ol boy I was trying to raise in the thread used every buzzword

“You might argue a truly woke man wouldn’t fall in love with a white woman but that isn’t how love works”.

Yep. But one not generically ‘anti-racist’, but concertedly centered in reclaiming justice and opportunities for African Americans.

You know this is what our community actually needs: A lobby. We have several celebrities and business owners with bread, but no consortium with the single platform of spending it to influence laws which hurt us. All other important industries have lobbyists straight up writing the laws and paying pols to pass them.

And remember, Rhonda’s father is Berry Gordy. All of the rest of Ms. Ross’ kids have White fathers.

That’s what dude I was replying to thinks. Black women =settling. I am a Black woman and my Black ass husband feels otherwise.

The ‘pull over’ is but one facet of the African American experience. The cadence of those events will still be different. When a rich/famous person is harassed by cops the narrative is, ‘even I am not the exception’. But the event is for the most part *exceptional* for that person’s current lifestyle. Philando Castile
