You can extend battery life with a Battery Geek external battery. I can use my laptop for over 8 hours using it and the internal battery which is great now that some coffee shops are covering up their AC outlets or you can't always get a seat near one.

OK so then is the basic idea to install the code from the 3 steps and then use the description of the code to go in and hack it to work with other websites?

I don't know what they're basing their ratings on if they only give WFMU 4 out of 5 stars....

Avoid mountain bikes, unless you are actually going to ride on bumpy dirt trails, and avoid any department store bikes. I recommend buying a used one from a bike shop, that way it's not too expensive but it will be tuned up and they'll do minor adjustments for free for a time also. Then as you ride the bike figure

Some cafes really seem to cater to workers while others seem to discourage them even though they have free wifi, I guess they figure you'll just check your email, surf a little, and move in less than an hour. Sometimes it's hard to tell whether or not a cafe welcomes workers though it never hurts to ask. I started a

I like to have my desk so it's facing windows, not the wall

my 2 cents: when your showering wash you whiskers a few times with soap to soften them as much as possible, and while shaving never rinse the blade in cold water as some people suggest (like in Miller's Crossing) it will only put cold water on your face and make your pores start to close up

Use a spoon or the blunt edge of a knife, keys don't give much leverage and break easily. I learned this in South America where it's rare to find a proper bottle opener, especially since everyone knows it's much easier to open with the blunt edge of big old steel knife instead of with cheesy little plastic bottle

I used Ikea's Galant series to create an L shaped desk. I like having lot's of surface area and I don't like have things elevated above my head like on the Jerker. I use their cable baskets in a very unorganized way so my cables are still a mess but at least they're off the floor.

Thanks for the iVolume link. That seems like exactly what I'm looking for. The real test will be if I can ride the subway and lock my iPod into shuffle mode and not have to take it out of my pocket to adjust the volume. This is another reason not to use the iTunes store since their DRM won't allow 3rd party

You can normalize the volume levels all you want but that doesn't take into account the differences in dynamic range between different tracks. A track that is technically louder with higher peaks can actually sound quieter than another that is technically quieter but has been "smooshed" with more aggressive
