They make a lot of them each day. Too many, obviously.

Agreed. I own a Vette. If it hadn’t been my dream car, a Camaro would’ve been the smarter choice.
I did just that. Got the Corvette and saved $30k. Happier with the smaller payments than the marginally better interior on a comparable 911.
I bought my C7GS a couple months before the wedding date. She was strongly against it. I didn’t care. No regrets. She gave up on complaining. I did have to buy a bunch of furniture I don’t love in return, though.
I can attest to this. Cruise control at 79 for road trips and I’m getting about 27-28mpg. This is in a 17 Grand Sport with the 335 tires out back. If you have some more time to spare and could do the speed limit, you can easily hit 30-32mpg.
I bought my 2017 Grand Sport when I was 35. I love it 😍.
Similar story with an R53 MINI. Drove it as a joke and loved it. Ended up buying an S R56. I traded it in for a 16 WRX (needed space) and added a New Corvette Grand Sport. Getting rid of the WRX soon to order a 2019 F56 JCW. There’s something about those damned cars I love. Don’t need the space that badly after all.
I’m with you on this. Had one as a rental and HATED it. That doesn’t mean others can’t like it. It just was not for me.
Didn’t these have the most inefficient V6's in a modern car? I think they made 18mpg highway.
WRX
C4 Corvette. I’m the son of Cuban immigrants and we got our start in a not-so-hot part of Miami. There was this one kid in elementary school whose father would pick him up in a red 1987 Corvette with the spoiler that was a hypercar in a sea of transportation devices in that part of town. I worked my butt off and went…
A star for you and your gorgeous machine. Also for reminding us (not that we forgot) what BMW was known for at one time.
No, thank you.
Any word on updates to the JCW?
I need to replace my 2016 WRX (lease) with something new. Like others, my taste is the problem. I want a manual but I also want some luxury and a hatch/wagon. I have a sports car already in the garage so I won’t be needing another. I hear the BMW 340 discussion but I don’t want a BMW. It’s just one of those things.…
I’m okay with this. When I was a medicine resident I worked 80 hours a week for a hospital. To make extra money, I would moonlight at another facility. Sure, I was exhausted, but if I didn’t work that meant there wouldn’t be a physician at that location. If services are needed and people are willing to get paid to…
I was a Critical Caremedicine fellow working 80 hours a week as part of my 2 year contract. On top of that, I was moonlighting 4 days a month to be able to buy myself a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport. No regrets.
Agreed. I bought my C7 Grand Sport bc I figured it would be the last naturally aspirated Corvette, amongst a long list of other reasons why I bought it and love it.
I like how your name ties into your comment. Brilliant if intentional. Brilliant if not. Cheers.
I can 100% attest to that. As a physician who used to regularly work 24 hour shifts, the drive home was by far the scariest part of my practice.
