The Ford Splash concept also came with dual compound rubber for a while. I can’t remember what the two compounds were or why, but I do remember the inner tread being red.

Thanks, I hate it.
You really can’t find equivalent tires for a Tesla Model X.
I don’t think they burn through tires any more than a performance vehicle (which this is) would. I had the same Michelin tires on my Porsche Cayman that came stock on my Tesla Model S (P85+). The first set had abnormal wear on the rear due to an extreme toe out setting due to faulty alignment specifications at the…
They probably don’t care much at this point. There aren’t that many XLRs on the road and they aren’t worth much. The chances of a collision that destroys the taillights and doesn’t do enough extra damage to total the car anyway is extremely small.
This is my take as well. Solid state electronics are remarkably stable. I find that 95% of the time a simple solid state logic board goes bad, it’s either a bad solder joint or a capacitor that’s gone bad. My first order of business is to replace all capacitors that look suspect and rework the solder joints.
The other…
If they had left the LS motor in there instead of putting in the Northstar, maybe it would have.
You lose the race, you lose your car!
Sacrifices have to be made.
Nope. Ballin’ on a budget? Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Timeless style and elegance and it’s a damn Aston. Your rich friends will think you’re one of them, your not so rich friends will be amazed. The car is perfectly reliable and easy to work on. Drivetrain is solid. I can find them in the low to mid-30's all day long. A…
Fleetwood Mac. Love the Smashing Pumpkins, but they didn’t write it.
Considering they found his bike at the rest stop and his clothes, computer, and phone by the river, it seems like he left the bike to go for a swim in the river or maybe a bath. The fact that he didn’t come back for those things and they weren’t stolen would suggest that he somehow became incapacitated in the river…
I got a quote of the day for years ago defending this car.
The US didn’t get the 8c. Alfa came back to the states with the 4c in 2015.
If we are going to talk F1 engine noises, there’s only one video worth watching, and while it’s hard to pick a favorite, I think the introduction of the 1996 F310 is the one that does it for me.
Don’t ever buy a car with the intention of restoring it. You’ll always spend more money than buying a comparable car that’s already well sorted and that’s even assuming your labor is free.
The problem is reliably filling a flight with 500+ passengers day in and day out. You can’t fly the plane with 400 people and make money and you can’t have it sit either. Better to buy a smaller, more versatile plane you can fill every time.
The 787 was fully expected to cannibalize 747 markets. The big plus to a superjumbo like the 747 is very low per seat operating costs — if you can fill that thing up reliably. The problem is only a few routes can routinely support flights like that. The 787 offers similar per seat operating costs in a platform that’s…
You have no idea. I was working on the 787 at Boeing when this plane launched. I casually asked why we weren’t building the biggest plane and I was quickly informed that if there had been a market for a plane larger than the 747, Boeing would have built it already. The A380 was seen internally as Airbus getting into a…
they never say anything about the badge on the hood or even the “green” aspects. It’s all about how quiet, fast and just plain good the car is.
