I would like some background on the 50% thermal efficiency claims. Specifically how they would scale to practical application. We have to limit combustion temperatures because of emissions and we can’t purely optimize for a narrow operating range because then it becomes “undriveable”.

Not sure you’ve seen the history, but Henry Ford was a Nazi party and Hitler supporter before and DURING WWII, until the US entered the war. He was a loud anti-semite and war profiteer.

I agree. If this was Hitler’s personal Mercedes or something, I would see the backlash. Or if it was dressed up in Nazi livery.

This “article” is such a dumpster fire I don’t even know where to start, so I won’t even try. Just...wow.

Don’t you own a Nazi-designed Beetle?

This is basically a list of people who haven’t bought a decent car in the past 5 years.

This is basically just a list of who to ignore in the comments

I would say that some of these people need to get out more or at least do some research before posting, but I think most of the fault is with Jose for including them in the slideshow. Head up displays? Been in GM cars since the early ‘90s and are still offered in basically every premium GM vehicle, Mercedes, BMW,

Built in Child booster seats

Heads-up displays are available on many cars these days. Most cars have mirrors that tilt when you shift into reverse.

If I had $2M pocket change, I would love to be one of the “75 fools” to part with a couple of mil to own a Singer DLS. These things are stunning works of art, with performance to match, and will only appreciate in value.

I have free supercharging for life, that does not mean I can take up a spot and block others from supercharging. I feel like the solution is to not be a dick and pay the “idling” fees. The energy is free, not the parking spaces.

That will be a far superior starting point for a homemade camper than a school bus!

Defunct

I think it warrants mentioning that the race was shortened by 14 hours due to fog, and that the Dacia completed ~70% as many laps as the winning car, which is awesome.  Congrats to the team.

If you’re going fast enough to need “blinding” lights while parallel parking their sight is about to become the least of their problems.

To answer the question: MK2 Escort. Basic models didn’t get the light wired up.

The Bentayga and Cullinan are the only ones with 12 cylinders, and the Bentayga is way faster, so I say that’s the winner.

Counterpoint: This is the best SUV for doing what SUVs are actually used for, which is tailgating people on your way to the mall. Since this is a 1-of-1 BMW with a V12 in it it also satisfies the “I’m way wealthier than you” criteria.

The “U” in SUV stands for utility.
