People get all exited about the FWD thing, but the TAs setup with the gearbox in front of the longitudinal engine was worse in many ways for interior space than the classic RWD setup and never really used all that much. Apart from some prewar cars I can only think of the DS, SM and I believe the rather exotic Quattropo

The XM followed the CX, the BXs successor was the Xantia.

I think repackaging the 208 (Citroen, Opel, Vauxhall, Fiat) for respective markets is precisely what PSA is going to do. The Question how long will they run competing dealer Networks selling the same cars next to each other. I can see Citroen, Fiat and Opel exiting various markets respectively or even disappearing

That Uninmog is no Unimog, but a Zetros, apart from the cab these share very little. The Zetros is a rigid frame, conventional axle heavy duty truck, the Unimog has portal axles on a twist frame and much less payload.

Let’s all hope Lexus and Chevy follow suit

Soo-Burb-ahn ?

Shortened Citroen SM rallye special

Nice Porsche you have there.

Look at the weird treatment of the Sedans C Pillar, this thing appears to reuse the door stampings and from another stablemate, the Opel Vectra C, the mehest of meh cars.

Given how this is basically a 4 door Supra™ , it’s quite fitting it looks vagely lexusesque.

“The GLC is the automaker’s top-selling vehicle right now”

An original Willys MB and its various iterations aren’t that much bigger. The Kübelwagen and later the Thing did alright being only 2wd by virtue of being light and having a flat floor.

Or simply lose traction, these are metal tracks, they grip surprisingly badly on anything but soft ground.

Could this be something Saab Sonett related? Maybe some alternative design study for the series 2? 1964 would place it prior to the resumption of Sonett production. Saab used Fords V4 engine, the weird proportions fit the Sonett well and since it had a fiberglass body, whipping up something like that wouldn’t be too

French Econoboxes will do that. They rattle after 30K, and then will keep on rattling reliably for the next 300 or so with zero fucks given.

-”Why don’t you just make 8 cylinders faster and make 8 the top number and make that a little faster?”

While the A3 ist just a Golf in fancy drag(MQB), the A4 and A6 use Audis own LQB modular platform. FWD it may be, but eco it definatly isn’t. Besides, I’d argue that that MQB is as about as premium as transverse FWD eco is gonna get, a Golf feels much more grown up than a Focus, or any other car in that segment.

It’s most likely a N/A XD Peugeot diesel engine, this thing is good for 500K and then some. Order the timing belt and water pump from europe for some peace of mind, otherwise there is hardly anything on it to break, no turbo, no intercooler, no common rail weirdness. The base engine is really understressed and by 1992

Counterpoint: It’s a prewar design.

Pretty sue the BX is fully hydraulic.
