That my main complaint with almost all of the internet anymore. 1 second is a long time to a computer. In 1 second my old renderer draws 12 full screen textures from scratch at 1280x720. That’s 318MB of data being generated. A good chunk of that involving complex binormal/tangent calculation, bezier patch

That’s not how shaders work though. The process generally looks like: bind shader -> issue drawing commands -> repeat until everything is drawn. There’s no bind shader to a specified area. The graphics hardware doesn’t even have a concept of area, that’s all vector-matrix calculus to transform coordinates relative to

Oh trust me, the combat system gets really good at 2x or 3x speed. It feels so different like that, as if combat went from a slow well thought out sequence of moves to a chaotic power struggle to maintain the upper hand.

Eh, they’ll be a few of us left that have good old fashion ingenuity and know how. It is truly remarkable what devices you can build yourself when you know not just how they work but why they work. Sure using power tools and shop equipment nets ya awesome high power devices, but for survival and comfort you don’t need

Dunno man. Think office “movies” have it right. On the desk was a truly enjoyable experience that I found far easier than a bed. I’m average height though so you milage may vary but at average height, that desk is roughly waist level. Let your imagination fill in the details.

Had a lot of similar experiences minus the meeting in person thing in the 10ish years I used dating websites. Seems like so many women are so convinced that they can’t find anyone near where they live and must look halfway across the country. The worst about it is that so many of these women are able to lie about that

There are still the old-school style of glitches found. Just rare since those are relatively simple glitches in comparison to the frame perfect stuff like in this article. Not rare to find them, just rare someone finds a new one.

More like exploiting loopholes in the rules, since that’s effectively what a glitch is. Steroids would be turbo pads and other modifications that go into the tool assisted category.

That really does seem to be the key. Just being open and honest to people. If you go around trying to be someone your not, you’ll find it very hard to live up to the expectations thrust upon you and lose a lot of respect in the process. That was probably one of the worst parts about taking on a strategist role in

I know what you mean about missing old game friends. A few a wish I kept in touch with. Mostly people I knew from my time playing EverQuest, never once met them in person but would have enjoy having a beer together with many of them. Almost all of my guild leaders and for the guilds I was part of leadership fellow

No but as I’m seeing it would have been close enough that the disappointment would be fleeting. Fans will always overhype a game, best a game developer can do is come as close to that hype as possible without compromising their original idea.

No, played the same one as everyone else. The game spells a lot of this stuff out for you but in such obvious ways that I missed it my first few times through. Once you begin to notice the repeating theme of marionettes in the game, you can’t un-see it and a lot of stuff that felt incomplete falls into place.

Your seem to be missing one step in the process. Can’t condemn you for it, probably doing it without realizing it. Before you start grilling your burger, pull the cheese out and let it sit in the shade. If you add cold cheese to a hot burger you get some unnecessary byproducts that can wreck an otherwise fantastic

If your measure of manliness is in how you cheese a burger... so sad.

You seemed to have missed a part of strangeness that actually did kind of make some sense. Zack wasn’t a whole different person from Cloud. Zack was Cloud before he was exposed to severe doses of materia. The personality known as Zack was destroyed and Cloud was created from it’s remnants. What makes that even more

Actually no, that’s not at all what a DefCon talk is about. Yes you get a disclaimer not to do it but primarily because they are obligated to do so if they expect to speak on a stage there. Usually it’s done in a mocking and sometimes hilarious way. What these are more about is, “here’s what I did, how I did it and

The original release had a depth of field effect that always felt like the focal point was somewhere behind the characters your looking at. That’s generally not the idea with depth of field. It’s an effect where your focal point being the point of interest to dull out the surroundings and make the main attraction

The only time I’ve ever played a game and found myself actually focusing on surviving was while playing the Crash Landing mod for Minecraft. It’s incredibly difficult to get a nice solid start in that mod. Have to balance your outdoor activities against your indoor activities to try and maintain a good temperature

Honestly I think these people do this shit online because they think no one can associate their handle with their actual person. In reality it’s far too easy to do so for majority of people using the internet and only getting easier as time goes by.

Your overestimating the talent of modern game developers. In an ideal world loading would occur on it’s own separate thread from game logic but in reality it’s all too common to perform loading on the rendering thread and between frames. Thus limiting framerate will limit loading times if your computer is out pacing
