Some people can’t help invading your space due to size, and that’s just the risk you take when you fly.

I was once in the window seat of a row of three. There was a gentleman in the aisle seat. As the boarding process ended, it became clear that the middle seat was to remain blissfully empty and I felt immediate relief, until the gentleman picked himself up, scooted over, and started to lower his ass into the vacant

Also, unless there is an empty seat between you, NEVER push up the dividing armrest. It is down for a reason- my space on this side, your space on that side. This is a sacred and powerful divider. Even if parts of you are spilling under it and squeezing against my thighs, I can pretend that it impossible because the

Good thing that social media doesn’t decide innocence or guilt. RATIONAL people are upset because he didn’t get a fair trial.

Who gives a shit about Steven Avery? What about his nephew, Brendan?

He has significant cognitive impairments which likely affected his fine motor skills, including his handwriting.

I started Kindergarten back in 1991 and went to fucking Catholic school, and they didn’t teach us cursive. My parents taught me at home, and while my handwriting is legible, it’s hideous. It truly is a dying art.

All I know is that my cursive (when I choose to use it) looks like fine calligraphy in comparison to what I just saw.

The first thing I saw was the Star Fleet logo.

"It's so far removed from any of this that it's safe to say it's completely irrelevant."

It's sweet of you to be concerned but, if it doesn't interest you, why not just move on? The ones of us who do want to read it can do so and you can feel less oppressed.

Should we not explore American history then? Or you know, pretty much any history involving Colonial powers? Should we not learn about WWII?

Do you feel this way about all history? Or are you just bravely taking a stand against anyone discussing racism at all?

I did. And I still don't care. Because we can't pull these out of the context in which they were written and say "yes, this is important for learning!" No shit rapists don't see women as human; no shit rapists have "reasons" for rape. Our entire culture says that's fine. But this thread is pages and pages and pages of

How exactly is a woman supposed to lock up her vagina? If you don't want someone to steal your bike, you lock it to something, otherwise you were kind of asking for someone to steal it. But it's a lot more complicated with rape, because women are always "asking for it" in one way or another- by wearing the wrong

Of course not all men are capable of rape, but identifying who is and who isn't is not a simple task. You can't boil it down to "he's nice so he isn't a rapist" or "he's my friend so he isn't a rapist." People get raped by nice people. People get raped by people who they thought were their friends. People get raped by

Yes. I feel more suspicious of every guy now. This thread is so terrifying — the beginning to so many of them sounds like situations I've been in.

Definitely. It also humanizes rapists in a way that doesn't absolve them, but instead points out that they are not simply a bunch of psychopaths roving the streets at night looking to hurt someone. Instead they are normal guys — friends, roommates, brothers — who are capable of acting this way, which is much more

Mmk, I understand how you feel, but I also can't help but wonder ... if you read the post before commenting? Because my entire point is that we shouldn't listen to their stories to feel sorry for them; we should listen so we can understand rape culture.

I think we should be listening to this. Understanding this. Because then we can start showing people "THIS IS RAPE CULTURE" These ideas, these thoughts, these actions. The way these rapists are acting. And we can start to change it. It's not about them saying how hard it was to rape people. It's about saying... This
