It wasn’t mentioned in the article (or I missed it), but GW also went full scorched-earth with independently created content prior to the launch of Warhammer+. Some creators were wiped out with content claims, some have moved on to other IP, and a lucky few now have contracts with GW. “Either work for us for pennys,

This. There’s a whole generation of folks where negotiating is part of the buying process, and that generation is dying out (sorry to be put it into such blunt terms).

No, they treat it as a deeply unpleasant undertaking that they can avoid by spending less time and more money.

“WTF??? People would rather just pay “what Ford says the car costs” instead of investing a few hours shopping around/negotiating to save thousands of dollars? Who are these people?”

While I disagreed with the earlier “what kind of player you are” comment, that was definitely a “what kind of gamer you are” comment from her. ;)

I would like to see an article, though, if only to see the argument articulated about what D&D is trying to do.

I suspect there are very few people who aren’t game designers

“Like if he didn’t do anything, this is just next level scum behaviour unless there was something really wild as in her somehow forcing her to a bloodpact to never reveal where she left to.”

Also, as someone who has spent most of her time playing TTRPGs GM’ing, building your narrative and encounters around what your players are interested in doing (which they flag in character creation) is basic good GM’ing practice. I don’t think that making a character I find interesting first and foremost signals

Like I said in the piece, I do like crunch actually! However, that crunch can be used to totally different ends depending on the game. Lancer, an indie ttrpg about mech, is super crunchy and uses its crunch to tell interesting stories about giant robots. Telling interesting stories with my friends is always the goal,

This EV won’t work for me because the commute to my job is 20 miles each way and once I get there they don’t give me enough money to buy this car.

I love AOC and hope she runs for President one day.

Is the update that you can get one in stores now?

I believe the cliche is, “A conservative is a liberal who got mugged.”

Could there be a response from Apple and Google to simply remove/ban any apps that have their own marketplaces? They pretty much have final say on what can or can’t live on their respective app stores, right?

I don’t have an easy solution, but I would be curious to hear what kind of one you might have that doesn’t create onerous burdens on trans people.

Good.

Imo, promising a $10 dollar universal upgrade option for future cross platform titles is a very reasonable compromise.

The issue before was this:

1) Tom wants a PS5 but can’t buy one because of market shortages
2) Tom will eventually buy a PS5 when he is able, but still wants to play games coming out
3) Tom buys Horizon:

Well it was more of a you can join us or you can be sued kinda thing with GW

Even if he doesn't trust banks, the time he didn’t have access to the money is still a cost and should be reimbursed.

Think about it this way:
“Buenos Dias” is a common Spanish phrase that people are familiar with. As an English speaker, we are taught that it means “hello” or “good morning”. Literally though, it translates into “good days”. “Hello” is still a good translation, but it does demonstrate the point of how no two languages

Ever have several hundred dollars or a few thousand dollars on you? They’ll take that too, and the cost to recover it will exceed the amount taken.
