FYI to everyone, I'm pretty sure at this point that user GardenVarietyTomSeota is a troll, so just ignore or dismiss for great justice.

I get that everybody has different hobbies, but we are talking about a serious issue within a community of enthusiasts, and then someone (not you) basically shows up and says, "Why is this such a big deal anyway? Your hobby is totally silly." It's not really contributing to the conversation, just dismissing everyone

I think you misunderstood his post. He's on the side of the ladies and saying that cat-calling is B.S. and not a compliment.

I don't think that addressing intersectionality really counts as "hijacking" the conversation. The conversation is for all women. And we have to address all the inherent issues. I think it's being thorough rather than derailing.

Trump is a billionaire and he's a moron. I don't think "smart" and "rich" are mutually inclusive.

It may not bother the deceased, because, yes, they are dead, but it is certainly upsetting for the families. It's not something to just shrug at, in my opinion.

I've actually been against the term "gamer" (for myself) for about a decade now, because it carries such a connotation of elitism. When you call yourself a gamer, others tend to want to test your cred and such or draw lines in the sand about which games are for serious gamers and which ones are for (to use a recently

Schoolchildren, no, but there are already universities that have courses that focus on comics and graphic novels, so I don't think the idea of video games being studied academically is too far-fetched. But in general, yes, thus far video games aren't comparable to literature in terms of scope and impact.

Ben Wyatt is basically my ideal boyfriend.

I think you're mistakenly thinking that Reddit is one all-inclusive community. It really isn't. There are lots of different posters and there's in-fighting. Also, when the site-runners themselves caught onto the subreddit /r/thefappening they shut it down.

While I agree that these particular people represent an overreaction, I definitely don't agree with that people who love video games need to "step back and leave the toys to children."

Impa= awesome.

Oh yeah. Forgot about that one. Haven't gotten to play it yet, but I love me some Dynasty Warriors and such. Also, Smash Brothers.

There's so much bias on both sides of this issue, it's crazy. For me, as long as the baby/kid isn't constantly screaming, it's A-OK. I'm not gonna judge other people's parenting because raising a kid is too damn hard.

It's okay. We all make a oopsie now and then.

I read that as "Eat bloosh". Funnier.

Why did someone wrap giant shoelaces around this dress?

Besides all the concerns everyone else raised about this...

All of the pushback against more sensitivity and inclusivity in games can be boiled down to a knee-jerk reaction that gamers have because they feel that games (which are very dear to them, more than just a hobby) are being threatened and criticized.

"gamers, who never leave your fucking basements"
