I am a lib. It’s not 2020 anymore. I masked until vaccination, but I didn’t magically become a conservative because I didn’t want to mask for the rest of my life. Gavin Newsom, Kathy Hochul, and every other blue state governor realized this a year ago — they rescinded the mask mandates because there are a lot more of

I’m not the one still trying to permanently stigmatize the human face a year after it became clear that was a lost cause.

I just like trolling the mask scolds at this point.  Your frustration is catnip for me.

I’ll never wear a mask again. Make me. You can’t, because most voters agree with me.

“The actor asserted that she was bravely standing up against the tyranny of people being required not to spread deadly viruses all over each other.”

Oh please, hardly anyone masks anymore. Are you still going to be talking like this in 2028? By all means, keeping masking if it gives you the good feels, but spare us the sanctimony.

I like Rogue One and it did make a lot of money, but I also think it may have contributed to Star Wars fatigue. Having that followed by TLJ and Solo in such a short period of time started to wear audiences out. The horrible quality of Solo and TROS certainly contributed to it, but I don’t think this franchise was

Star Wars seems to benefit from a long hiatus between movies. TPM and TFA each made the most money of their respective trilogies. The anticipation is built into the experience. When they tried to make it like an MCU thing with Rogue One and Solo, the numbers started to go down.

I think the well just ran dry. There have been 25 Bond films released since 1962, and they certainly aren’t all winners. A lot of them kind of feel the same. There have been 31 MCU films released since 2008, and the average one is much better than the average Bond. It’s quite an accomplishment, but they’ve burned

It’s interesting you bring this up, because while I feel Pascal and Ramsey are perfectly cast and have good chemistry together, that’s the part of the show I’m least invested in. It’s not that they’re bad together, I just keep finding myself more emotionally connected to other character pairings. Bill and Frank, of

I remember Season 4 being funny at times, but the narrative is just all over the place due to the inability of the producers to get the cast all in one room for more than a day or two of shooting. So on one level, the huge flaws are excusable due to practical scheduling issues, but on another level they just shouldn’t

“No deal!” - Ezra Miller

Can people just stop talking about the Ezra Miller scandals until after this is released? We don’t want this movie getting the Batgirl treatment and permanently shelving a second Keaton Batman performance.

TIL “difficultly” is a real word.

He never could have died a hero, really. There were only a few points he could have quit the business while satisfying these three conditions: (a) having enough cash to leave his family, (b) being free and clear in the eyes of the law, and (c) keeping himself and his family safe from violence.

It’s actually kind of insidious now that I think about it, unfairly stigmatizing Riley Reid. Like, she works as a porn star, but that doesn’t make her some kind of toxic creature who magically creates an inappropriate environment of sexual harassment by appearing in an office with a plant.

I agree with many of your points regarding Man of Steel, in that while I think Snyder didn’t really understand the character’s appeal and there are some major tonal issues, the movie is telling a story that’s often mischaracterized.

Yeah that was a great moment — the point when I was all-in on the premise and thinking “Wait, Shyamalan found his mojo.” I didn’t really have a problem with the final reveal, either, although I totally see why that was a groaner for some people.

That’s exactly the example I was thinking of. Judi Dench was great as M, and I have no issues with treating the Brosnan continuity as a different universe than the Craig one. Viola Davis is perfectly cast as Amanda Waller and they shouldn’t try to recast the role just because they’re also recasting Superman and Batman

I expected to see Old in the top five, not because it’s a great film or anything, but because it’s a very enjoyable B-movie and there are a lot of low cards in this deck. I felt like Shyamalan wrung just enough clever ideas out of the premise to satisfy me as a viewer, and I’m not going to get too hung up on the sense
