Yes, in that Hunt’s statement to the team and NFL apparently contradicted the video.  That’s unlike Rice’s situation, where he admitted to hitting his fiancee before the video was leaked, but the brutality of the footage was too much to bear.

After the Ray Rice debacle, I’d be surprised if both the NFL and the team didn’t try hard to get the video and interview those in the know.  If the hotel, police, and those involved in the fracas refused to cooperate, they could only go on Hunt’s word.
