Like I previously stated. Instead of reving the infrastructure to "rev b" to allow simultaneous voice and data on 3G. They are just using their '4g' infrastructure. Which makes sense. That was decided years ago. No need to revamp a network twice at the same time.

You do know that GSM is not a technology...it is a standard set? CDMA is both a standard set and technology. Certain '4g' networks will meet GSM guidelines. New standards for '4g' will be incorporated into GSM. 700mhz falls within GSM frequencies. 4g is no where even close to being 4g. It is technically false…

Well it is moving that way. I have Spring with tight integration with Google Voice. So, as long as I have wifi...I can make calls. Whether it be in this country or another. Also, international rates this way are less than 10 cents a minute.

As far as 4G...Your point is moot. Here is why. Neither LTE or WiMax are GSM based. They are OFDM based. They are more like sisters...rather than rivals like GSM and CDMA.

Just because something is more widely adopted, doesn't mean it's better.
