the differnece here is, luxury automakers can afford to have those owners drive another car that they also own, where as a camry driver who gets a Model 3 is not going to have another car lying around.

Another trick: An old co-worker plus wife were renting a car to drive to a bigger airport 150 miles away. They get there to pick up the car and they’re REALLY pushing for them to get a SUV or mini-van for X amount of money. Tells them no-no-no, don’t need the extra space for 2.5 hour drive. Get rental car insurance. It’s well worth the investment because if there is an issue, you don’t have to go through the hassle of reporting it. (especially to car insurance). I had an incident where a mirror was cracked in the lot where I left the returned car overnight. What a pain.
