I actually think the Mirror supports are one of the nicest touches on the car. Short of exotic cars, its rare to see such a thin and styled support for a mirror.

The design is gorgeous. They fixed the mustache, which was the only visual detail that needed fixing.

Though, I do prefer this one still running the Pontiac mill w/ a Poncho 455 squeezed out to a 480, twin 66mm turbos at 12.5psi also doing 1000+whp.

Shieet! I love the 79-81’s. They look cool compared the that hillbillyesque 75-78 front ends.

Bleah. I could do without the really skinny tires/big rims. It’s probably a bit functional with such wide tires, bit it looks cartoony.

This year we bought a GTI for my wife, and when it came time to sell my Benz, I honestly considered a 2-door 5 speed GTI to replace it. Then I drove an 86 Carrera. I love the GTI, but driving it back to back with the Carrera made me realize how unexciting even a fun modern car is.
