Gotta be a disgruntled employee with access out there somewhere that will leak this.

I have wanted to throttle Elmo ever since he appeared on the scene.

Yep. Elmo is a glory stealing asshole.

One day Elmo will enter the public domain and someone will make a brainless horror film about him.

If Larry had attacked Cookie Monster or Grover, Wesley would have had a point. They are cherished icons. Elmo. not so much. I remember a while back I wanted to buy my niece a copy of one of my favorite books as a child, “The Monster at the End of This Book”. In the 1970s, this was a Grover book. The modern version

Wil has turned into a humorless, judgmental, self-righteous prick. It seems like I only see his name anymore because he was again scolding someone for some extremely minor infraction.

As a father of two, had either of my sons been upset by this, it would have been a matter of, “Elmo and the man were just pretending.” That’s all. That would have worked at virtually any age. And it’s not like I’m some genius parent.

If you’re talking about the actors and regular working people yes. However, I believe she is referring to Sony and the major studios. They are concerned about shareholders and investors.

Well, I haven’t heard him sing, but I’ve heard him aaaarrrrrgghhruuurrrgghhaaaah [ you can put the riff here]!

lol the Disturbed cover is trash, guy

I think it is absolutely important to raise up Will Harris for that interview done by “us” in 2014, and post his current website, and raise up his book on the making of Airplane! which was released last year. Here y’all go: https://willharris.substack.com/p/2023-my-year-in-review

The Disturbed cover is embarrassingly bad lmao

Wait, wait, wait - they have zero taste for not liking Disturbed or Alien Ant Farm? Was there some kind of Daylight Savings error and we fell back to the early 2000s?

It’s by Disturbed. It is, by definition, a poorly done cover.

Yeah, he is far from alone in this.

Nah. I don’t care if Pavarotti loved it, it’s a crap remake. It’s so “look at me, I’m raging and full of pain” that it’s just ridiculous. A Monty Python level skit.

i don’t like it. i had enough overwrought power ballads in the 80s.

I have to disagree with the Sounds of Silence cover. I understand why people like it but to me it’s so far over the top it’s obnoxious. The original version doesn’t need the drama turned up to 11; what makes it great is that the whole arrangement is so understated.

Disturbed’s cover is not good. It’s overwrought and bombastic in a way that adds nothing to the original material. The beauty of The Sound of Silence is that it packs an emotional punch while being wrapped in a simple, small musical package. Simon & Garfunkel were excellent at that; Disturbed may as well hit you over

Disturbed’s cover of SoS is an abomination. It loses everything good about the song, so that it’s embarrassingly over serious, faux tough guy lead singer can growl and preen throughout.
