@dasugo: they don't even need to be that rich, I reckon they could make these for $350 for the 32" model. As long as they didn't murder it with huge profit margins this could be a very successful TV
@Warmonger: A UPS generally tends to last a few minutes; just enough to allow you time to save your work or whatever your doing. That figure would be drastically reduced depending on the size of your telly / it's power consumption.
This is will be really good in third world countries where a constant power supply is not guaranteed. I think the TV should have an outlet for a sattelite box or media viewing device as it's kind of useless having a TV with no input.
