When I read Into Thin Air climbing Mt. Everest sounded like the worst ever. Same with this. Incredibly impressive, but I can't understand why someone would put himself through it.

I think the difference is that football's once a week, while baseball is 6/7 days a week.

Bloomberg's famously a Red Sox fan, but he grew up in Boston and so the voters seemed willing to cut him some slack on that. Much different to grow up in an area and then root for another team, particularly when you're a frontrunner.
