Left For Dead 2, a game that is 14 years old, is currently (as I type this) the 33rd most played game on steam. Games don’t need an infinite stream of content to have long lives.

If you get upset when the endless stream of new content ends for a game you play, that just means you don’t actually like the act of playing

IMHO Harley has the best marketing of any product in the world. You can completely buy in to the bad ass cosplaying dentist persona.

I maintain that Mario Kart 8 is, bizarrely, one of the best examples of a multiplayer focused, post launch supported game in the current era. While obviously it’s now receiving a massive content injection, initially it just released like four map packs and then coasted for 8 years on just that and a re-release that

They’re going to have a very hard time shaking their reputation.

Funny, the real robbery is how much they pay people to work there.

Although their marketing does paint a target on their back. (And their front, and everywhere else...)

Probably less chance of being robbed as well

Lurking on the Gran Turismo Reddit, I came across a post venting about which cars can/cannot be turbo/ supercharged, which led to this gem:

Because crashes do happen in racing and it is lazy if a SIM doesn’t accurately represent that damage. Especially if the IRL implications of the damage would impact handling and aero.

About a decade or so ago (shortly after PS4 and Xbox One launched) I was a Gamestop employee. My first full non training day actually. I was told to go out and clean the window and door just before closing. As I was out there a guy ran up towards me with a gun and put it to my back and walked me inside the store. Kept

Speaking here as someone who’s been laid off by Microsoft more than once (and eventually replaced by AI in one notable case), who’s struggling again to find work, and is running out of money:

Yep, Halo Infinite is 100% finished and does not need... oh, wait, hang on, my producer is telling me the game still needs tons of work.  So why the fuck are they laying off developers?  Got any other stupid comments, bootlicker?

Halo missed launch by a year

Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella, has a net worth of approximately $350M.  He could give $30k to every employee he fired and still have $50M left over, enough that he’s still rich beyond your wildest dreams.

Microsoft only had a net income of $72.7B for 2022, so I can see how they just couldn’t possibly afford to keep those people employed.

I’ll settle for hearing “And the nominees for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Stunt Work are.....”

Never underestimate people’s desire to be right in an Internet argument.

To be fair, a lot of real soldiers are gamers. So it’s entirely possible that some of them actually have some clearence... Unfortunately...

Regarding source; Some of the people on the War Thunder forums having these arguments are individuals in positions that give them clearance to the information they are arguing about (maintenance crew for the battle tanks, etc).
