Whelp in an ideal situation the F1 can theoretically run around 9.30 @ 154 mph. The GT500 will probably weigh in around 3900-4100 pounds so figure the lighter of the range (3900 lbs) the best its going to muster is a 10 flat @ 142.

Granted this is just plugging curb weights and horsepower into a calculator but it is

Exactly! Godzilla is about a fat average power number in a reliable and inexpensive package.

Agreed or do just like me and flout the law! I haven’t run a front plate since 2009 - no need to complain and hell I’m not going to cry over a ticket every 10+ years at this rate.

Well on the plus side going Mars will help out on this mudball when the global average temp soars past 1.5c and lands at 2c +

>>rhetorical question<< It took this long? >>/rhetorical question<<

It’s inevitable when a company sets the bar and gets the accolades other companies are going to pursue them. BMW is probably finding itself in a similar situation to GM and the Corvette. They likely will need to make a ground breaking change in some fashion to put that sort of distance between them and more plebian

Yeah the TR3160 in my car just has a single OD (6th is a .63) a consequence I think of the engine’s powerband being so high up (peak torque is at nearly 5,000 rpm and anything below 3,500 rpm feels lazy) so the Voodoo needs the five lower gears to get around with some alacrity and well it helps on the road course.

Woul

It works but lets revist this pic in 250,000 miles and tell me how the belts, hoses and plastics are holding up. Not to mention the heat load being placed of the AC system and cooling module.

Most shops doing custom installs and the aftermarket could care less about that. They are just looking for a spot to put the

This! The S550 engine bay is a bit tighter compared to the outgoing S-197 cars. When Ford debuted the EcoBoost TTV8 car people went nuts and thought for sure Ford would build a TT 5.0 for the next Shelby Mustang.

I tried telling them it wasn’t going to happen - manufacturers don’t put turbos down below since they are

Since Merton started grinding that axe!

What speed do you get 27-28 mpg? The GT350 can get around the same doing 60 mph or so and can hit 30 mpg on the highway below 60 mph. Pretty much if your putting along below 2000 rpm the 5.2 knocks down decent mileage.

What is your change interval? I change mine (5.2 Voodoo) every 5k and maybe 1/2 a quart under normal driving if that.

Granted the engine doesn’t see more than 4k on the tach most of the time in the day to day but oil consumption even after tracking or dragging the car isnt bad at all.

Depends - my Voodoo engine in normal operation doesnt burn much at all and I change the oil every 5k. In my FB group its not a huge issue as well and that represents are fairly good cross section of owners in all types of activities.

One thing I’ve never heard about the GT350 is bad handling. Its almost universally praised for the way it handles and how accessible the handling is.

Usually the gripe fest centers around oil consumption, trammeling, and cost (well when its SS 1LE vs GT350). Sometimes steering feel and sensitive braking and the usual

I love the GT350 so much I bought one but its not even in the same zip as the C8. That test would just be for GM fans to gloat and talk about how Ford’s “sports car” is a fucking piece of shit.

That said Motortend and Hot Rod magazine probably have you covered.

Think of the bench racers!!!!!!!!!!

can’t wait for powertrain details! I want to see how the “LT2" specs out?????

This! They voted for a bully fearing some sort of comeuppance.

Edgy take bro!

To be fair sidewall height and rim diameter is how they limit the performance on an F1 car. The same benefits that a low profile tire on a street car provides would hold true on an F1 car as well.

While there is certainly a cosmetic component to low profile tires along with a performance benefit to steering response
