You mean the Getrag and not Tremec designed DCT in the Focus, which oddly enough, Getrag also provided the transmission for the GT supercar.

That’s the same A10 used in the 2018+ Mustang (well probably a few internal materials and programing aside).
Yeah... I’m pretty sure they have an handle on that now... if not I wouldn’t be typing this since I’m about 10 minutes away from where the navy routinely refuels their nuclear aircraft carriers and another 10 minutes away from where they let the majority of the east coast’s aircraft carriers and subs bob in the water.
Can’t go to sleep or so devoid of interaction they just fall asleep? EV’s are more or less sensory deprivation chambers with only wind and tire noise to catch your attention then throw in a “self” driving mode to further relax the driver and you get “idiots” literally asleep at the wheel.
If it’s cold out then no reason to switch out the snow tires. Now if you go from snow/ice to Saharah desert on a weekly basis then it might be a different story. Snow tires can still tolerate infrequent bouts of warm weather during winter no problem all the same.
The GT can return good mileage if you drive with economy in mind. My 07 GT would easily knock down 30 mpg on the highway and IIRC driven with economy in mind on the street I could get 15-17 mpg through a combination of start/stop at idle and 2nd gear starts plus short shifting so that I could hang the throttle open…

Im surprised they didnt go with a hybrid fuel injection setup. Both for emissions, power and durability reasons.
Iron is perfectly acceptable as a block material. It all depends on what the application calls for.
Oddly enough I know more men that can cook than women!
Yeah I imagine the C8 will be an international car as well and even though a lot of people dig a big cube pushrod engine you still have intenders that go in for <air quote > hi-tech </air quote> powertrains.
The glory years of the 2.73:1 ring & pinion will again be on us! And yes that was a thing with Ford back in the 80's and 90's with a four speed autotragic at least. IIRC 3.27 was the manual ring & pinion or maybe a bit less.
Huh, I have a buddy that was stationed in Germany, his biggest complaint was the Germans were a bit sneaky with speed enforcement conversely stationed in Italy he said the enforcement zones are well marked and the prevailing attitude is “you know where they are at so if your dumb enough to speed in a marked zone you…
People can appreciate capitalism when its a healthy functioning system however there is nothing enviable about it now.
The mid engine Corvette should be getting a TT DOHC engine per the leaked engineering photos.
“but modern DCTs are better than manuals in just about every way besides appeasing luddites. “
Not heresy at all.
heh!
GM has a seriously petrified boner for Ford.
This! Full size trucks are cartoonishly large these days!
