Check Motor Trend’s albeit brief tech feature on the GT500. They beefed the 5.2 block up for GT500 duty so same architecture but reinforced for supercharger duty. All this probably accounts for the so far rumored 4200 pound curb weight which is about 500 more than the GT350R.

Ford doesn't consider the flat plane crank a good choice for an FI engine and has repeated warned the folks dropping a blower into the GT350 that catastrophic crank failure may result due to increased axial loads IIRC.

54/46 (F/R) weight distribution for the GT and GT350 and 53/47 for the EB cars. My guess is with the GT500 it will probably be around 55 or 56% front due to the supercharger and extra gear (which includes the heat exchanger and auxiliary engine coolant radiator - yeah this thing has TWO radiators for the engine in

Ford like GM doesn’t really cling overmuch to the muscle car heritage as much anymore. They are content with letting Dodge fill that niche and instead go for much more rounded cars.

Nope, Ford told the guys asking what needs to be upgraded on the 5.2 in the GT350 when going with a supercharger and Ford said (paraphrasing here) “we don’t really suggest that. The flat plane crankshaft isn’t designed to support those axial (or was it radial??) loads. So we recommend swapping in a cross plane

Oh shit!

There have been a few chops where people have made the bumper body color and its been a 100% improvement in the car’s looks.

The 2019 GT350 benefited directly from the GT500's development. Its why the 2019 car now comes with Pilot Sport Cups (more akin I think to the G3 Goodyear Supercar tires GM loves putting on its SS 1LE and ZL1 cars) instead of the previous Michelin Pilot Super Sports. They also revised the aero and mag ride to

You call it masturbating and I call it stress management... whatever helps you from strangling the shit out of a coworker even if it’s popping off to a Mustang is a plus in my book!

Anybody who isn’t into Bench/Drag/Street racing really doesn’t give a shit about milliseconds.

Considering this car is rumored to cost at least 70-80k out the door and there will be heavy ADMs you’ve got a few years before the carnage starts. Early intenders are probably going to be paying 100-120k for the GT500 if not more depending on how MSRP works out.

Why trash all that established marketing? Ford crap canned “King Cobra” because they felt it would cost to much to educate the broader public about the Cobra name.

Well well well... the new age Cadillac Cimmaron...

So that’s putting it in spitting distance in a segment full of pretty good cars. Corvette, Shelby GT350, Cayman to name a few in the 55-60k range and right around a few good cars at 50k ( Camaro SS 1LE and Mustang GT PP2 )

LMAO! One of the subscribers in my GT350 group just got a noise violation for... you guessed it... the stock exhaust system!!!!!!!!

That’s the problem... old people...

You mean brand a car better. GM could build a better car with both eyes gouged out and both arms hacked off and both legs twisted into a pretzel.

Four kids and 800k in damage? I’d hit them with a 200k bill apiece and garnish wages until its paid off. Hell 10k a year for the next 20 years would be a real pain in the ass.

Well if your game is street racing and your looking to sucker somebody or catch them off guard otherwise I dont see the point especially on extroverts like US performance cars where the aggressive looks also serve a purpose.
