Maybe? But its not out of sorts for Japanese manufacturer to do that. Toyota absolutely hemorrhaged money on the Lexus brand until its reputation was established.

GM May be spinning Corvette off into its own brand with initially with the Stingray front engine and Manta ray mid engine cars (GM trademarked Manta Ray and Corvette Manta Ray) eventually discontinuing the front engine cars I suppose based on demand.
Wat do they get wrong about cars? Every f-u-c-k-i-n-g thing!
I think the real question is - did Nissan take a beating on the car when it was introduced so they could get it out there and swim in the accolades for bringing a super car in at sports car prices with a plan to reduce then eliminate the hemorrhaging once the car had an established following.
Hah! John Cadogan is going to have a God damned field day with this!
I think it was some FB advice dispensed by a click-bait site? I swear I remember reading about how “bad” it is to skip gears while operating the vehicle.

Politicans arent so much stupid as they are opportunist. Liars certainly but they knew full well the impact the tariffs and tax cuts would produce and now are just taking advantage of the situation to ingratiate themselves.
Neutral: Its shitty and I hate the corporate soft talk but I’d say GM is being pragmatic. They arent Tesla and the hucksters on Wall Street dont see a future for mature entities like GM so they are unwilling to bankroll the company through the oncoming carpocolypse.
“The company is transforming its global workforce to ensure it has the right skill sets for today and the future, while driving efficiencies through the utilization of best-in-class tools”
