And I’ve definitely gotten jobs in the past by marching into stores/restaurants confidently and going over my resume with the hiring manager. ;) it’s a hustle and it might not work a lot of the time bit I’ve found that it’s a lot more effective than other methods.

Oh man I feel ya. I have been gainfully employed in the same job for about a year and a half but Mr. Antisocial has been job hunting for months (he’s in the sciences but doesn’t have a master’s which greatly inhibits his hunt). He’s been getting super discouraged too.
