@goodywitch: + 1 for this. It looks a lot like this app, and for the same great price (free)
Wow, I'll be shocked if that pricing sticks. Still, it might not be a bad strategy to float an inflated price early, then revising it lower later so that it doesn't appear quite as bad. Personally, upgrades from previous versions (I'd say XP and Vista both qualify) have to start at $99 in order to get any traction.
@bachya: +1 for slicehost
it looks like enabling experimental searches no longer removes the wiki features...
@MarthaHorn: Agreed, there was an important category of not-typo, not-regular, occasional contributor of substance. "Other" isn't satisfying enough.

@ShyamaLabdacus: GeeXBox does sound eerily close to what I'm looking for... I'll have to give it a spin, thanks (and thanks to the other votes of confidence that followed).
Why isn't there a lightweight distro dedicated to playing a DVD? (or is there?)
I used GreatNews for a while before switching to Google Reader, and liked it very much then. Sync with Bloglines was a killer feature, and Jack, the developer, was looking into adding support for syncing with Google Reader, but in never happened AFAIK. Development seems to have stopped, as the last major update was…
Just to be clear, they pulled out because of the antitrust concerns of the Justice Department.
Shrinking the image softens the details, so it's often a good idea to sharpen after shrinking.
