Just be careful not to over use this... Nothing bugs me more than finding an address with line breaks entered into a cell.
@olegna: I couldn't agree more. DRM keeps me from ever using iTunes (that and the irritating default assumption that it "thinks" it knows better than I do how I want to organize my music—iPhoto is even worse). But if Apple and the Recording Industry ever get a clue, I'll begin buying MP3's DRM free. Until then, CDs…
@Ali Karbassi: Ah, sorry—I read your original comment as you (yourself) actually "make" messages with attachments have the label rather than a filter do it automagically.
@Ali Karbassi: try setting up a filter that uses the "has attachment" quality, and label it with "attachment".
DD-WRT can serve SSH too, so you don't need another machine on your home network.
@LucyStone: along those lines, here's the coolest way to browse geotagged photos from inside google earth — a kml feed pulled from Flickr...
@tarponcreek: Here's my variation on your first version, with Vista titles and (tagged Mac not-tagged Windows) blocked.
I'm in love!
That is very cool. Looks like they might be having some problems filling demand though, it seems to be working now. (btw, comments are still acting funny for me...)
@Gina Trapani: maybe a filter that marks everything as read? (haven't tried that yet myself)
@Gina Trapani: good idea GT, but you should have used strong tags instead of b imho!
@Heironymus: Allow HTML Temporary will be a useful addition to my TB, thanks!
Oooh, some good tips in here...
@Gina: agreed, I'm wary of private feeds online (though it seems like it should be as safe as Gmail). My problem is in trying to teach non-techies how to use RSS and then saying, "but don't use that for private feeds, use this instead" at which point they give up. We're getting closer to easy feed reading for the…
(Bug?) Looking at comments I've made, this post has the byline running into the story. Also strange is that the 2 comments that were here earlier are now missing...

@monkeyboy: I schedule SyncToy to mirror changes daily to a second drive. Weekly I run a differential backup with Acronis TrueImage and sync it using FolderShare to an offsite machine. Occasionally I make a fresh image and sneakernet sync the master so I'm only syncing the diffs.
Picasa puts keywords (tags/labels) into the IPTC meta data. This is an important future-proofing step since now that data will travel with the photo wherever it goes. Unfortunately Picasa doesn't seem to keep the caption anywhere but its own internal database. iPhoto (last I looked) seemed to keep its tags locked…
@acey: looks like we're of the same mind at the same time. ;)
