Oh, so this is about US image of anime, not anime itself. Gotcha.

So here's a crazy idea: Charlie Brooker as replacement? You've already stolen one Brit from us and it worked out fine...

"Sir, this is not a BYOP establishment."

Could also be to silence his breathing so that it does not affect the controller?

Which is rather obvious, considering that old Nintendo portables had virtually no competition, and Japan's population was younger back then, so the customer base was larger. Still not a sign of impending doom.

Yokai Watch.

There is literally nothing good about this trailer.

19 years is pretty old for a pro mangaka/animator to start these days...

I was trying to think of a US equivalent of this, and all I could come up with was NBC New Year's Eve with Carson Daly and Twilight Sparkle.

Yokai Watch was the main theme of this year's Kohaku Uta, along with Let it Go. That's proof enough how huge it is in Japan right now.

Hey, at least they all know it's not really pixellated.

France is still pretty great for artists, as is eastern Europe (half of deviantart - the good half - are Russians, Ukrainians and Poles). And there's a very vibrant community of art students in SE Asia - but they tend to end up in Japan or China anyway because money.

I once parked my 1974 VW Transporter - a freaking van - next to a new Mini. My car was noticeably smaller (except in height). I then understood that cars have grown fatter at about the same rate as people.

I think they said the embassy (or some other authority) organized the rescue, but it would have taken more than 24 hours for it to reach Ushuaia. It is one of the most remote places on the planet.

My main takeaway from the special is that I and Jeremy Clarkson have an almost identical taste in movies. Except I'd swap Battle of Britain for A Bridge Too Far, but yes, Butch Cassidy and Local Hero are the two best movies ever made.

It really doesn't take much editing to paint a bunch of people throwing rocks on cars in bad light.

Literally my first idea. Damn.

I think the question should be why are they not popular elsewhere!

Eh, that's like saying every FPP is a rip-off of Wolfenstein, or every RTS is a rip-off of Dune 2.
