Same here, but my GTI has been great for 55k miles so far. My first and only German car so far.

Yes, sort of, but my Odyssey’s plugs and timing belt got replaced at 105,000 miles. My GTI’s plugs were due at 40k and the timing belt will be due at 60k. Plugs aren’t hard, but the timing belt is no small thing.
