No worries, mate. You have no idea how much I missed my first two or three times through, and how deftly and subtly Martin weaves pertinent information in.

Everyone you know who’s read the books is wrong! (Although actually disliking her because of the way she treats Jon is understandable, but I also understand why she’s so mean to him, even if she’s wrong to be that way.)
“And Catelyn is as confused as we are.”
He always looks like that.
See...those are all reasons why I think WWI was an inspired setting for the movie.
This was absolutely an amazing showcase for Stephen Dillane, too.
All Cersei’s soliloquies and dialogue in this episode is terrific. It reveals so much about her and her world view and shows that in our modern world little is different, spoils and horror of war etc.
One super fascinating part of this story is that it is, in many senses, just the epilogue to another story which we only hear about in snippets. A massive portion of Game of Thrones is simply the fallout of Robert’s Rebellion.
Yea, the “You win or you die” quote might even be a Top 10 moment of the whole series. Lena Heady just kills it, and how she doesn’t sweep the Emmys every year is beyond me. Haters dismiss this show as being all about dragons and action, but in those early seasons, dialogue was king. My favorite scene of Cersei’s is…
Nah, Natalie Portman was fine in the Thor films, the problem wasn’t that she was muttering “paycheck” throughout the entire thing, the problem was that the script barely give her anything to do beyond standard issue love interest stuff.
You know, I forgot that WW made her debut in BvS, but you’re right, it’s a spectacular appearance. Her little smile after Doomsday gets his first hit in on her, like “Oh, okay, you’re going to be a challenge after all” is the best.
Which was absolutely the correct decision. Because in the end, it is all personal. Tony’s ‘ideological’ stance is just a desire to pass the buck on all of the shit he’s caused and get to say he was following orders. Steve’s ‘ideological’ stance is a growing paranoia that no one else can be trusted to make the right…
They should have just made the mission “Kill the Joker” or something.
Honestly, that was one of my takeaways from Infinity War - indeed, the MCU as a whole. You have these massive casts that include literal Oscar winners, not to mention incredibly accomplished directors, writers, crew members, behind the scenes people, and they all give a damn. No one is just cashing a paycheck (well,…
I am so excited for this! Along with...uh...no one else...?
Uh....
No.
The I.T. Crowd nailed the personalities of the I.T. department (I’d say ‘albeit exaggerated’ but that’s only Moss, and I think I know a Moss), and the treatment of I.T. by the rest of the company. The rest is exaggerated and ridiculous, but that central core of the show was accurate.
Cube walls fell, open-plan offices came back into vogue
Thank you!
And as someone who put Black Panther on his ballot, I can say, there were a hell of a lot of good movies out this year. I can understand other people not putting some specific popcorn movie on their ballot because there were literally 15 other movies I could have easily swapped into mine.
