You're right. Words change over time and have different meanings in different places.
First a cartoon was just any art 2D visually illustrated, then it turned into any non realistic/semi realistic drawing/painting used for caricature, satire, humor, etc.

I hate how the only vanilla UT99 server with low ping I can play on (aside from starting with all weapons..) is a 24/7 Deck server. It gets boring to play on the same map all day.

I prefer UT but what I do love about quake is Rocket Jumping and Bunnyhopping/Strafe Jumping. Ofcourse both started as exploits, but they became fun mechanics.

The raw movement speed was never that fast in UT, that was more of a Quake thing.

Facing Worlds is nowhere near as good as people make it out to be.

It's extremely early, the movement still needs a lot of fixing at the moment.
Dodgejump from UT2004 will not be there because it messed up the weapon balance and map scale.

UT3 is a great game, I really don't see the hate, besides the graphics, little new content and it being slightly slower. But it's still really good. Oh and ofcourse the launch was terrible for more than a year, but it's really fun to play now.

UT3 is not much slower than 2004, actually. It's just that you have dodgejump after a dodge in UT2004.
