Nothing to do with re-election. Everything to do with Harry Reid retiring as Senate Minority leader.

The wage gap is real. Let's not pretend that this law would dramatically change that immediately. The reasons for the gap are too much of a social issue rather than a legal one to wave a magic wand and cure the wage gap. But what it would do is get the ball rolling on changing social norms that have their roots in

Merlin is the one who cited her journalistic credentials ("I have a master's degree in journalism from Columbia and I write investigative stories") in her response to Soave. It's sounding more and more like you have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

The terms of the DUI plea agreement may have required that Gordon agree to abstain from alcohol for the term of his probation (3 years in my case). So it may not have been legal for Gordon to drink. I don't know his terms but it is possible.

You think they should hire someone new? They are still trying to recover from the Lane Kiffin/Dennis Allen regimes who were both hired with no head coaching experience. I agree that their candidates suck but I can't blame them for interviewing coaches with actual head coaching experience. This is not the perfect time

One play should get a guy kicked out for life? I get that it was a dangerous/reckless play but that would be a ridiculous overreaction.

Player star ratings are often based (at least in some part) on the quality of schools that have offered them scholarships. If the SEC has the reputation of having the best football programs, the players those teams offer scholarships will naturally have higher star ratings. I'm not saying that the SEC doesn't get

Thank you for proving my point. But I'll repeat myself. Just because you disagree with someone does not mean: they are trolling, they "cannot be serious", or as you put "they have the brains of an average eight year-old". And I do think he meant to hurt his child to serve a purpose. Do I agree with his method? No. Do

No I was trying to agree with you. Sorry if it came across as differently

There seems to be a general belief among commenters on this website that their opinion is "common sense" and that everything contrary to their opinion is either trolling or so fucked up that the person holding that opinion "cannot be serious". The fact that so many people on here are saying AP is disingenuous for

well, then those people are stupid.

When people refer to a gay athlete as a distraction, aren't they usually referring to the media attention and fan reactions, not a distraction within the team itself?

SAM in aviation terms can refer to aircraft maintenance. The joke is that the pilot in this case couldn't avoid the debris damage to the tail engine, kind of like how the MH17 couldn't avoid the surface to air missile.

I think he/she's making a joke regarding the fact that SAM refers to aircraft maintenance while it also refers to the surface-to-air missile that took down MH17.

So unwritten rules are bullshit and enforcement by league officials is also bullshit? Throwing at batters is bullshit so batters should be able to throw bats at pitchers without punishment? I get the whole argument that pitchers should not be able to throw at batters without formal/league consequences but I think this

and I'm shocked that a Deadspin commentator makes a comment on race when it has nothing to do with the subject.

This "controversy" is horseshit. If both teams didn't insist on putting the game in the refs hands on every play by flopping on every fucking play then they wouldn't lose by the refs. If they want to play the game the way they play then they have to realize that the refs screw up. And both teams benefit from the calls
