Calling what Trump has “a human face” is a bit of a stretch.

This is a mini-series, not a movie?  Any idea how many episodes?  And do they all drop at once or weekly?  These are details that should be in a review like this.

I normally get annoyed at people shoehorning partisan politics into unrelated conversation, but that was pretty good.

Losing a showrunner like Roiland isn’t easy.

eh, I liked s3.  Much better than 2, still streets behind 1.

Also, “It’s like having blue balls... in your heart.”

I liked Season 3. It’s an interesting story with what I thought was a good resolution. Also, the acting is really good.

There was *plenty* to criticize about Season 4 that had nothing to do with gender or race.

Not much, which is part of the tragedy.

The Prestige is absolutely worth checking out. That, not Tenet, is the underappreciated gem in Nolan’s repertoire.

The Prestige is a top-5 all-time movie for me. The Illusionist stinks.

Back when the Film Club podcast was still running (sign), A.A. Dowd said that “Tenet is the kind of movie that Nolan’s detractors accuse him of always making” and I think that sums it up pretty well.

I was just talking about Tenet the other night. Nolan at his worst. Uninspired story, flat characters, and a puzzle box gimmick that gets tiresome by the third act. And I liked Inception!

This is... certainly a take.

Nope, Tenet sucked.

Not unlike West World, it twisted itself in pretzels to show off how clever it was, and frankly it was the most boring movie I’ve seen in years :(

Oh, and reading back through the reviews for this season it’s good to see the AVC is still using writers who are too busy on their laptops or phones to pay attention to the show they’re supposed to be reviewing.  Why watch when you can just invent details or pose silly questions that were explicitly answered on screen?

I was genuinely excited for this season, especially for Foster, Hawkes, Eccleston, and Shaw. Saw a couple interviews with Lopez that quelled that a bit but was still cautiously optimistic. I’m glad I waited til today to binge this because this was a sloppy, disjointed mess. The acting was the only good thing about it,

This thread is worth a read on the subject.

In what way does “the finger of blame point solely at Gutierrez-Reed?” As the article discusses, Dave Halls already pleaded guilty for his role in the shooting. Baldwin is charged. So that’s at least three people who the “finger of blame” has pointed to.

People are really, really struggling to ignore Christopher Nolan praising Watchmen and saying Zack Snyder is a visionary filmmaker.
